Meet the Feebles

There's a new DVD out now, the other one is out of print. Amazon.com doesn't mention any extras(go figure), but I'd kill for a commentary. I was primarily wondering if there was a new transfer.

I've only seen it once, and I can't imagine watching it very often, but there a few scenes I remember that really make me want to check it out again. My friend and I like to joke that it's "a high-octane mix of puppets and perversion!".

Anyone pick this up?

*edit- It's been a while, I can't even remember if the movie is worth a shit. It's no Dead Alive/Braindead, that's for sure.

You and your friends pretend to be annoying newspaper critics?

It is perhaps the most disturbing film I've ever seen.

Agreed.

This sullied my fond childhood memories of The Muppets.

Worth it alone for the junkie alligator knife thrower's "Deer Hunter" Nam flashback. Priceless stuff.

And to think this gem of insanity came from the man who would go on to direct Heavenly Creatures, the LOTR films and King Kong.

I was hoping that this film would have been funnier than it was. More disturbing than anything else, really.

Prepped me for Wonder Showzen, though. I WILL give it that.

Yes, yes we do.

That part is one of the few genuinely great moments in the movie.
The only other stuff I remember is an absolutely repulsive scene with a talking fly in a shit-filled toilet, an overweight walrus fucking a hippo(or was it a cat?), and the big sodomy-themed musical number towards the end.

I love love LOVE this movie and am thrilled there's a new DVD. Cracks me up and disturbs me in equal measures. The songs are great, too, and the final hippo massacre is one for the record books. My favorite anything having to do with puppets.

The Nam flashback has one of my favorite bits, where the VC beavers are trying to brainwash him by writing "Lyndon Johnson is very bad egg" on a chalkboard.

This actually played in a theater here several years ago. My friends and I had never heard of it, but it said it was from the director of Dead/Alive...and that was all it said. We went in knowing nothing, and came out completely stunned. What kind of a mind even comes up with an idea like that?

When they announced that Peter Jackson would be directing Lord of the Rings, we were equally stunned.

God, I love this damn movie. Sick as all hell. Had the Japanese laserdisc for years (subbed, but what're you gonna do?), and bought that first DVD around September (or was it October?) 2002.

If Peter Jackson were to do a commentary, though, I'd gladly upgrade again.
