Thanks for the heads-up. I love the 1st one, and my youngest son is addicted to it.

some cute fun to be had. though I was blurting out f-you to the dude who hijacked my walker after building the damn thing. now I just need to play through LS1 now that it's supposedly backwards compatible.

Big file... will have to wait until tomorrow to download.

Thanks for the update. We were really worried.

Ok, it's tomorrow...are we there yet?

I made the dumb mistake of jumping out of my walker over one of the barriers on which I was supposed to use said walker's blasters. I couldn't switch, as none of my stupid party would come near me, so I had to restart. Luckily it didn't take too much work to get back to where I was.

Picked this up for the 360 today. Played through the first two missions. Just an addicting game trying to collect everything in sight.

Yep, just like the first one.

The wife and I played through the first two missions as well (360 version), gobbling up studs like they were going extinct. She's a huge fan of these games and was just as excited for yesterday as I was. I feel a REALLY long gaming session coming up this weekend!

In case you haven't heard, if you didn't buy the first one or bought Lego SW II for the 360, you'll be able to download the prequel characters (50 or so?) for 200 MS points:

LEGO

Excellent.

I never played the original (not sure why, actually), is this worth a purchase or more of a rental?

I don't know about how long it'll be. You could probably blast through it with a rental. I'm in the, "I love the source material" camp, so I bought it - dig the cuteness of it all...and it looks to have a ton of replayability with the tons of collecting you'll be doing by accessing the free roam mode, that is if you're into collecting tons of crap. For me it boiled down to getting this or one of the latest hockey games for the 360 - I chose Lego Star Wars.

And downloading the prequel characters sounds god damned nice.

Just a heads up for those planning on getting the PC version of the game--some users are experiencing an error 1330 when attempting to install the game. The below post from the Lucsarts forums resolved the issue for me. An official patch is still in the works.

http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.j...14666&tstart=0

Quote:
1) Insert your CD
2) Go to start --> My computer
3) Double click your Hard drive
4) Click File ---> New ---> Folder
5) You should now have a folder called "New Folder" Rename it whatever you want.
6) Leave this window OPEN...

Part Two
1) Go to start --> My computer (This should open a new window ontop of your other one...)
2) Right click on your CD Drive, and choose Explore
3) You should now see a list of the files on the CD.
4) Click Edit ---> Select All (Or Press Ctl + A) This will highlight all of the files
5) Click Edit ---> Copy (Or Press Ctl + C)
6) Switch windows so your new folder is in view... Click Edit ----> Paste (Or press Ctl + V) Give it some time... You now have your CD Copied to your hard drive...
7) Leave this window open... You now have TWO windows open. The "New Folder" you created, and your CD drive.

Part Three
1) In your new folder window single click the Default~1 file (It is now highlighted)
2) Press delete on your key board, and choose YES (Not to worry... It is still on the CD)
3) Click the "Setup" file... There are two, and you want the one with the blue icon with 2 triangles...
4) Follow the set up directions
5) BOING! You just got an error that says the "Default~1.cab" is missing... (Remember we deleted it!) DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING! LEAVE THE WINDOW OPEN THAT SAYS RETRY!
6) Bring your CD Drive window to the front.
7) Single Click on the Default~1 file.
8) Click Edit ---> Copy (Or CTL + C)
9) Switch to your "New Folder" Window
10) Click Edit ----> Paste (Or Ctl + V) Give it a bit to copy! It is a big file! (Bout 4 mins on a newer computer...)
11) When it is done copying, go back to the "Retry" Window that we left open...
12) CLICK RETRY!

The above 'fix' didn't work for me, so I actually had to go to www.gamecopyworld.com to find a file that would allow me to install the game.

The game itself isn't that bad, but I much prefered the one based on the prequel trilogy. The levels are a bit too long this time around, and without an in-level save feature, it makes things a tad bit annoying. And it's just more fun to play as a Jedi fighting alongside another Jedi instead of being the only guy with a lightsaber and having the rest of your gang being lame droids who can't do anything, or just people with guns. It's still a fine game, but it actually had me longing to play the first one instead.

I like the long levels. Seeing as you can't die, only lose the precious lego bit things, it doesn't bother me as much. But I'm still only in Episode IV - so I don't know if the levels become longer or complex as the game goes on. I also don't really like handling the Jedi. I've died more being wasted with Obiwan than any other character so far. The damn blasters do me in - unless I'm suppose to actively deflect them back to the shooter - in which most cases I end up harming my followers.

I'll need to hook up our second controller sometime and let the wife in on the fun, if I can find where I stashed the damn thing.
