Maid Marian And Her Merry Men

Out now on R2 DVD

I dearly hope I'm not the only one on the boards to remember and love this show. It's one of the sharpest, funniest kids' shows ever, and well worth a purchase. It's been stuck in limbo for awhile, I think due to rights issues.

I can't say I've ever heard of this show, but it looks sweet. And hey, I like Baldrick.

Tony Robinson is awesome in this show, and the complete opposite of Baldrick. King John's a complete slob, Guy of Gisbourne is a mincing coward, and his two soldier sidekicks spend most of the time debating football. Robinson's Sheriff of Nottingham is the real challenge for the good guys. He's also really fucking funny-very sarcastic and dry. It's essentially Blackadder for juniors.

Loved this show, Tony Robinson was great in it but they guy playing Robin was pretty good as well.

The idea of Robin actually being rubbish and Marion being the real hero was pretty clever for childrens TV at the time, which leads me to belive Tony Robinson had something to do with writing it?

Yeah, it's pretty much Without A Clue crossed with Blackadder. Pretty funny stuff.

Hah, yeah I remember this show, watched it all the time as a kid. There was some good TV for kids back in the day.

Had me in stitches as a kid and - along with Bananaman - was one of the shows that I didn't realise how damn witty it was until I was a bit older (early teens). I still have a couple of the Asterix-esque tie-in books kicking around somewhere, which I remember being equally funny.
