I was just about to post this in the other rep thread:

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a sticky thread for new members, about what the rep system is, and to clear any confusion/immediate bad blood: That rep-leavers can be pussys and leave someone else's name at the end of their comments, and to report racist shit to the mods, etc, etc.

But then again, seeing as you've started this thread, maybe we can just choose the option of knowing who leaves what comment. It would spill into threads though, you know it.

Honestly, I have given up on the notion of these being civil and fair forums. I'm certainly not going to make a big post about it for fear of BobClark linking to the last times I've tried. I think the veneer should be stripped off and people should know exactly who's gunning for them.

You need an option to "Leave as is", unless the "No...abandon" isn't also for abandoning the whole system.

Speaking as someone who only just emerged from the red, I don't think the problem with rep is the anonymity. That's what PMs are for.

What would help is if every point given or taken would show up on our CP, whether or not someone entered a comment. I only get comments on about one in three rep changes, which means most of the time I have no idea what I said to piss someone off-- or make someone's day.

What's the point? The only thing fun about the system is that the anonymity gives people free reign to write weird, random and sometimes awesome nonsense. Forcing everyone to sign their posts will kill all of that, leaving you with a bunch of people saying "Good job" or "I disagree" all day long.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm kind of like V, and my weapon is jokes about Diva getting assfucked, and I'd like the rest of you to all wear these little plastic masks too.
