Wrestling Discussion Thread (WWE, TNA, ECW, WCW, etc.) - Page 175

I was thinking that the happiest, healthiest place I can think of is the back of a police cruiser.

Ah Matt, you are the gift that keeps on giving....

Matt Hardy, who was arrested Saturday in North Carolina for driving while intoxicated, says he is innocent.

In response to fans who were discussing his arrest, Hardy wrote on his YouTube channel, "I took a breathalyzer immediately on the spot and it read clean, zero, nothing. Think about peeps! There's more to this story than meets the eye. MATTHEW"

Hardy posted another, longer response regarding the matter, but immediately deleted it.

Hardy's contract with TNA Wrestling was subsequently terminated following his arrest. He hinted on YouTube that a return to WWE could be in the cards.

In response to a remark that he should return to WWE, Hardy wrote, "You are exactly right my lovely. It's time for the original Matt Hardy to appear once again!"

So in summary, the police are out to get him and the WWE wants him back dispute culling a bunch of talent recently.

Bless him.

If he ever sobered up for two seconds, I wonder if he'd realize that Jeff carried him through their tag team years and that was the last time he was relevant.

Hopefully the return to the WWE means a WWE sponsored stay in rehab...

of course WWE would take him back,.  I mean, a drunk idoit who makes out with grapes, and tases his sister inlaw on youtube is WWE material.

The best thing that could happen to these guys, is to be blackballed from wrestling for a few years.  Get cleaned up... get your head on straight.  Or OD on something.  Either or.

His girlfriend's last post from last night "Just when you think it can't get any worse...".  From 2 days ago: "If I hadn't woken up just now this would have officially been the worst day ever."

I think the almost 40 year old guy is having trouble keeping up with the 25 year old girlfriend.

Even worse than Jeff's.

What are the odds that Punk sneaks in a dig during a promo tonight?

How embarassing is this now...

Uh, Jack Tunney is trending on Twitter.  If that doesn't show Punk's appeal, I don't know what does.

For one ghastly second, I thought they were going to kill Nash's character offstage in the car accident, like the Dad on Good Times.

What a show.  As bizarre as it was to hear the King bury Otunga and Whatsisname for being boring just seconds before they lost their titles - an absolutely humiliating way to demote an underperforming pair of employees - Truth and the Miz' tag team debut promo was hilarious.  I absolutely love the "You Suck" remix of Truth's anthem.  These are two guys who genuinely relish what they do and make the audience feel it with them.  I'm starting to believe WWE's tag team division plans are a real thing.  Cena and Punk, for their part, absolutely demonstrated why they're where they are in the company with the main event they put on tonight.

The most wonderful thing happened tonight.  I left my place a little after 8 to get some take-out food to eat during RAW.  Got my food, and as I was on the way home, I realized that I'd get back home probably right as the RAW opening pyro ended.  Get home, and I RACE to turn on the TV, hoping that I haven't missed something Punk said.  And then it hit me: for the first time in ages, I actually felt a real sense of urgency to get home for RAW.  This time last year, I wouldn't have really cared if I missed anything.  Thanks, Punk!

As for the show itself, Punk was great as usual (the Chapelle's Show quote had me laughing out loud), but God, Nash was just painful.  I chuckled when I saw that Trippy was going to be doing the promo with him.  Trippy isn't quite as silver-tongued as Punk, so I thought that was a conscious decision to put Trippy there in order to mask Nash's shitty delivery, but it didn't work.  He's awful, and I was confused about what the hell they were even trying to convey before Punk came out.  It was obvious to me that the "car crash" was a Laurinitis set-up as soon as Trippy left.  I guess he's trying to usurp the idiot son-in-law's throne.

ETA: Rikishi sent the text.  Calling it now!

I agree that it's obvious Laurinitis shot JR set HHH up.  I'm fine with that.  I just wish they would go back to using "King of Kings" as HHH's theme for the duration of his on-screen COO tenure.

If he goes full heel a la Mr. McMahon in the late nineties, they HAVE to use that song.

Remember when Matt was dumped from the European tour and he made that video where he said he was still in Europe and hadn't been sent home?  Looks like we have another battle of semantics on our hands.  He blew a clean breathalyzer all right, because he wasn't drunk.  He was on fucking drugs!  From The Fayetteville Observer:

Quote:

Hardy had not been drinking, Smith said, but appeared to have taken some type of impairing substance.

Hardy submitted to a blood test, Smith said.

Speed was a factor, as well, Smith said. Hardy was traveling more than 55 mph but less than 70 mph, Smith said

Smith is the arresting officer, fyi.  I love that they live near me, because when they fuck up, I don't need a dirt sheet.  I get to read all about it in my local newspaper.

Kingston/Borne Truth/Miz are a great start to the tag divsion.  Swagger/Ziggler would be another good combo and it would mean someone else could have the US strap for a while.

Actually it would be a great way to inhance the Punk Storyline, give him a title shot for the US title, make sure he wins and keep him away from the WWE title by forcing him to defend the strap each week.  It would be a great passive/agressive tatic for HHH to use.

Holy Hell, Matt looks like he just shot Wild Bill Hickock in that photo.

"Matt Hardy on his wreck:  "When the side windows glass smashed into my face, arms and neck, some of the blood that did felt almost angelic.  I went from being afraid to die to feeling like I was almost being reborn with some sort of an ABSOLUTE PURE LIFE-FORCE.  It was the most amazing thing I've every experience.  I felt like I'd just received the blood of an angel flowing inside me--I know this sounds crazy!  Due to these, I only have urges to help people.  And miraculously, all my vices are gone."  The stuff that makes no sense is not typos in this case." ...from last night update on the WO site...

He is actually insane, I feel bad for mocking him now.

I had to read that twice before I realized you weren't making a joke and that he actually wrote that.  Holy SHIT.

ok I'm worried for the dude now.

There is this. very strange you tube video

then this.

http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/tna/TMZ_Reports_Matt_Hardy_Has_Been_Rushed_to_the_Hospital.html

dude has totally lost it,.

Yup, this is officially not funny now.  After watching that video, the "falling down in the house" hospital trip is sounding to me like a suicide attempt.

wouldn't bet against it being a suicide attempt.   time for someone to call HHH and get this guy into rehab today.

Speculation is that Hardy is trying to work a "ghost" angle on the internet and this is all part of it. Which may be more fucked up than it being a suicide attempt. He needs to be sectioned.

That actually crossed my mind but i thought even he wouldn't be that stupied.

Hardy also posted a twitter msg to his girlfriend with his phone number in the message, although she claims it's not any of their phone numbers.  She also posted something about "I can't control anyone" and "this is very all heartbreaking", so who knows what the hell is going on.

Continuing the "My God wrestlers' lives are depressing" conversation, here's an article on Ric Flair that bummed me out.

Towards the end of the article, when you see that he "received a judgment of ejectment from his home on Sharon Road in Charlotte", I know exactly where that is, because my wife grew up right down the street from the house.  Crazy stuff.

A picture begins to emerge, explaining while the Nature Boy never ran for Governor after all.

Awesome update: at this week's Smackdown! tapings, Ewrestlingnews is reporting that Luis Ignascio Urive Alvirde, the original Sin Cara, was told not to bother performing.  Developmental talent Jorge Arias, who has been appearing in ring as Sin Cara while Alvirde's Wellness Program issues have been ironed out, will be playing the character from here on out.

So real Sin Cara was future endeavored, or is he being re-packaged?

Has anyone else seen those pics floating around of what appears to be a bald Undertaker at a recent event?  If those are really him, wow.  I hope he's not sick or something, because that's the only reason I can think of for why he'd shave his whole head.

so, what was the point of his return again?

NWO music for Nash?  Hmm.   And a HHH/Punk match is far less likely than a Nash/Punk match to be a Botchamania main event, so fine by me.  It does feel like there's too many people orbiting Punk right now in terms of this storyline, though.  The central idea of "who sent the text" is getting lost.  And it's weird that Nash seems much more intent on defending Stephanie than her own husband.

I've been loving every word that's been flying out of CM Punk's mouth lately, but the crack about Stephanie's panties honestly made me uncomfortable.

one step closer to ending the brand split?

Hope so... but I dont know if even WWE knows where they're going with all of this yet.

At least we've been spared watching Nash try to hang in the ring with Punk.

Also: "Click is also the noise your knees make when you walk!" ... dammit Punk is on fire!

The same as the last time he came back.  Nash said he was able to work, and WWE fell for it like Charlie Brown trying to punt the football.  Nash's last WWE comeback consisted of a couple of promos and one match that he couldn't finish.  Who thought his condition had improved since then?

yea, rumours abound that he was sent for a physical and something came up.

raw was good, wish they would have drawn out the HHH corporate villain rather then jump back in the ring for NoC.  Maybe stretched it to Hell in a Cell.

Anyway, not sure if anyone has seen this site but the comics are pretty funny. http://www.botchedspot.com

I died when, immediately on the heels of tonight's Kevin Nash run-in, I was informed that Super Smackdown! was brought to me by Just For Men.

no, I was reffering to Undertaker and that month of vignettes for his return... kind of pointless....

Seriously... FUCK THIS GUY... who the fuck, in their right mind posts something like THAT.

It's a cry for help/attention.  People who are serious about doing it try to avoid interruption, not give a day's notice on frigging Youtube.

ETA: a wrassling news site that's covering this as it develops reports that police have already responded.  Because it's North Carolina, they've gone to the wrong Hardy Brother's house.  Jeff's wife is pissed.

I'm confused about who exactly I'm supposed to be rooting for, because Punk is starting to look like a world-class dick rather than a smart-ass antihero, and Hunter isn't nasty enough for me to root for him to get his ass kicked.  He's a beleaguered guy defending his family's honor and his own manhood.  How am I supposed to root against that?   Like Hunter said, there's only so much he can take.  There's only so much that anyone could take.  Punk came off looking like a real shithead tonight, and I don't think that was the intent of that segment. I honestly felt more for Hunter when Nash shoved him down than for Punk when he got hit.  If my loyalties are meant to be divided in this storyline, they're doing a great job.  If I'm meant to be 100% behind Punk, they're fucking up.

HHH's COO character has been currying favor with the fans since he replaced Vince.  Was Punk considered a face by anyone except in the context of fans' hatred toward Cena?

Yeah, I think the point is we are supposed to be conflicted so that the eventual heel turn for HHH (which he has been wanting for years apparently) comes off as a shock.

On another note - fuck you Matt Hardy for making me think you needed help.

What a fucking asshole.  Being an attention whore is one thing, but putting your extended family through a scare like that is so fucking repugnant that I don't have the words for it.  Fucking cunt.

Matt DOES need help. He's a fucking disaster. Drugs + living the majority of his life in a fantasy world and only hanging out with other deluded burnouts like his brother equals a dude who just doesn't know how to cope with life outside the ring, and increasingly inside of it as well.   Jeff is a drugged out fuckup, sure... but Matt has proven to be a whole other level of crazy.  He needs to be under observation.

I guess in Matt's warped worldview, there's no such thing as bad publicity...I bet Vince and co are getting more and more worried about this on a daily basis...

I don't think Vince gives a fuck, honestly. He's done more than enough to distance his company from the fuckups that are the Hardy brothers.

If another famous, well famous enough to be on TMZ's radar, wrestler goes mad and kills himself, who do you think takes the biggest PR hit?

I think Matt Hardy needs a Tyler Durden intervention... someone needs to grab that SOB, and put a gun to his head and make him fear for his life.  But you know what, at this point I just don't care anymore, if he ends up in the dead before 50 club, I wouldn't lose any sleep.

Well, TMZ refer to him as an ex-TNA wrestler.
