White Nights Vs. Syriana

Hmmm.

Is Warner trying to subtly tell you that Taylor Hackford's 1985 dancing opus White Nights is just as important as Gaghnan's exemplary Syriana?

versus

I think so.

Screw Warner for not putting Lionel Richie's name at the bottom like they do Clooney's.

Certain Fury is better than both of those, because it stars "Academy Award Winners" Tatum O'Neal and Irene Cara.

I see what you're doing, but yeah, it totally misses my point.

And it was such a vital point. Something had to be said.

Which also misses the point.

Well, besides the obvious (discussion of said items), I was hoping this thread would segue into a discussion on like DVD covers and why people felt the studios did them - for recognition? for shits and giggles? because someone in the Home Video Art Department is lazy? - but naturally, your addition to the discussion was well worth it.

Well, if that's what you wanted to discuss, you might try saying that in the first post. As it is, it looks like just a snarky comment on two DVD covers with similar designs. There's not much to discuss there. You can't just hope that an interesting discussion ensues.

I'll bite.

Syriana makes next to zero sense and meanders like a crackwhore looking for her next fix. The only conclusion it comes is that oil companies are greedy and corrupt! Wow. Amazing.

Never seen White Nights.

Discuss.
