CHUD Fantasy Football A-League Smack Talk Thread

The draft is tonight at 10:00 central time.

This is year four and we have not had a repeat winner yet. Remember, the bottom four teams get booted from the A-League next year and demoted to the B-League while you get replaced by the top 4 from the B-League. Fight till the end.

And talk smack here ...
I will destroy you all with my computer chosen team. Or not.
Yep I did the same pre-rank stuff. I gots to work unfortunitely.
How many will be drafting manually? Sounds like not too many.

I will laugh at your auto-chosen players as your teams fill with injured players, holdouts, and criminals. And your kicker that will be drafted in round four.
I should be able to draft live, despite the fact that (or maybe because) I have hurricane shutters to put up for tomorrow's storm.

I would be too. Dominick Davis is injured, Corey Dillon is injury prone and has a very hot rookie behind him and Dominick Rhodes is not really experienced.
My auto drafted team is pretty good too. I'm not going to post it though because I'm sure it will totally changed by week 2.

Oh, and if anyone is interested in some RB swapping, let me know.
dom davis may be out for a while.

Team Venture. You are going to need some help.

Indeed. I blame gremlins.

Rumor has it he might be released.
Kubiak already debunked that rumor. He'll either make the final roster or be placed on injured reserve.

RBs didn't fly off the shelves in this draft for some reason. I picked him up in the 4th round, and he might have been there later than that. I got Thomas Jones in Round 8, and Mike Bell was out there until Round 9, I believe.
I am wondering if this is going to be DeShaun foster's year. I have a feeling that he is going to breakout big time. Then again, he also could get injured real soon.

Also, I find it hilarious that Donte Stallworth has been getting so much fantasy attention. I mean, the SAINTS TRADED HIM. If the fucking SAINTS, feel like there is nothing he can offer them, what the hell does Philadelphia think they can do with him?

I did three more fantasy drafts yesterday.

In one of them, I was the 4th pick. I thought that sucked until the first pick chose Peyton Manning!!!! I got LaDanian.

In another one of them, it was a 25 player (!!!!) team (10 teams in the league). It starts 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 TEs, 1 D, 1 K and uses Sporting News Ultimate Scoring System. I had the second pick and still got Larry Johnson. (Alexander went first)

Then there was my big money league. It's our 11th season and it is a 3-person keeper league. I kept Caddilac Williams, Steven Jackson and Larry Fitzgerald. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DT (our defense is pretty important as it takes into account yds given up and points given up and can score close to 20 points a week when it plays good)
Here is my team (with their draft round as well):

QB: Kurt Warner (4), Aaron Brooks (8)
RB: Caddilac Williams (k), Steven Jackson (k), Corey Dillon (2), Fred Taylor (5), Laurence Maroney (7), Jerius Norwood (12)
WR: Larry Fitzgerald (k), Torry Holt (1), Javon Walker (3)
TE: Alge Crumpler (6), Kellin Winslow (11)
K: John Kasey (13), Olindo Mare (14)
DT: Ravens (9), Patriots (10)

If I get an injured receiver, I'll have to scramble to find another. I love that I got Maroney as insurance for Dillon and I have Fred Taylor to plug in as a really safe bye week alternative, as well.
I had my last one Friday night, and ended up picking #3, so I got LJ. Weird league--8 teams, and you start 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 R/W, 1 TE, 1 D, and 1 K. So everyone is kind of loaded. I actually have Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss as my starting WRs. And Hasselbeck and Bulger as my 2 QBs. Should be an interesting season here.

The more I look at the 23 man roster (with a chance for 2 IR spots) on my Ultimate League, the better I like it. It is head to head and here is my roster (10 teams):

Remember, you start 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE, 1 K, 1 DT with 14 bench players

QB: Trent Green, Ben Roethlisberger, JP Losman and David Carr
RB: Larry Johnson, Warrick Dunn, Fred Taylor, Laurence Maroney, Travis Henry
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Marvin Harrison, Terry Glenn, Rod Smith, Eric Moulds, Mark Clayton and Peerless Price
TE: Tony Gonzalez, Todd Heap, Daniel Graham
K: Mike Vanderjagt and Jeff Reed
DT: Denver and Cincinatti

Larry Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and Marvin Harrison makes me very happy. Tony Gonzalez and Todd Heap gives me an advantage over EVERY team in the Tight End position. Warrick Dunn and Trent Green are both great and I got Maroney and Dunn as backups.

I am very excited about this team.
Your recievers are top notch, but Harrison scares me. You gotta think there is going to be a noticeable drop off at some point. I think it already began, but he was still a damn fine reciever last year.

As far as your RBs, as you already know Warrick Dunn is a victim of league scoring rules. He can be a beast in some leagues which award yardage, but in scoring leagues he is almost worthless. Seeing that I have played in scoring heavy leagues, Warrick Dunn has never really interested me.

Also, I am PRAYING that Larry Johnson lives up to the hype...as are a million other fantasy owners across the world.
Anybody interested in trading a WR for a starting RB? I've got available:

Thomas Jones
Kevin Jones
Wali Lundy

I'm not looking for Steve Smith or anything, I'd just like somebody decent. Shoot me a PM and let me know.
And so it begins.

Heath Miller ran for an 89 yard touchdown - I don't care if he did step out of bounds. It still score me like 14 points for just that one play.

And my year of dominance begins .....

ummm ....

bwa-hahahahahaha

or something ...

Yeah, he's on my Dynasty team--I was psyched, and actually strained my neck on that play (see the NFL thread). And I also had the Steelers' D in my FoxSports.com league.

On another note, I just traded Fabian Washington for Klopenstein in my Dynasty league now, so I'm set on QB and TE for a while (Brady/Roethlisberger and Miller/Klopenstein).

MORE FANTASY FOOTBALL !!!!!!!!!!!

Yahoo Survival Football - You pick ONE winner each week. If that team wins, you move on to the next week. If that team loses, you are out. The catch: You can only pick a team once in the season. Last survivor wins. The game starts in Week 2

JEEEEEEEEEEZUS.

I had a good solid day overall, and I am still going to lose. I should have started frank gore, but that would have meant benching westbrook. Now I have a controversy.

If st. louis doesn't start scoring touchdowns (wtf 5 redzone trips and NO TD's?), I may need another quarterback.
Half my team underperformed, and I'm barely in the lead in my matchup. If Randy Moss has any sort of good day tomorrow, I'm screwed and Starving Dog wins.
And I'm going to lose to a team that started 2 guys that didn't play. Unless Brad Johnson goes insane tonight vs. the Redskins. Ugh.

I'm also going to lose in like every other league by like 6-7 points. Nice first week. TJ Houshmanzadeh doesn't play, so I played Chris Henry instead--and he scores a big fat zero points. I had Moulds, and almost played him. If I had, I would have won. Shit.
TJ Houshmanzadeh not playing threw a monkey wrench in a number of my teams this weekend.
I have him in my other league as well, Jason. I had to start Mark Clayton in his spot-4 pts. And Carson freaking Palmer laid an egg this weekend. Well, at least I didn't start Jake Plummer.
Palmer will kill next weekend, I imagine.

I feel mildly bad about that. Not really, but I am surprised. I still managed to top 100 points though without Smith or Houz.... which is respectable. I hope that's a sign of things to come.
FUCK. I lost by 2 damn points. Stupid Randy Moss.
By the hair of my chinny-chin-chin, Fazer. If Oakland sucked any worse you would have beat me. 9 sacks. Unbelievable.
Ugh. 1-3 the first week. I lose by:

10.5 FP
16 FP
6 FP

and win by 2.5 FP

This is the first year I'm playing this, with a few hundred dollars going to the last survivor. I got through Week One unscathed by picking Arizona. Fun game.

I know, in reality I didn't deserve to win. No way I thought San Diego would drop a bagel on Oakland and basically plant brooks in the ground permanently. But after seeing that, I really thought I was going to win. Fucking santana moss.

Good win though.
Can't say i'm happy with my teams performance. Pretty frickin awful can only hope my luck changes this week.
edit*
Looks like another 1-3 week, although my victory this week will be in this league. I thought I had kicked ass in another league, and I'm going to lose by 12 FP. I'm down majorly in two of my other leagues.
I broke 100 again (and won) without Steve Smith or Houzmandehdalgiane.ash%@. I'm pretty happy about that, but I want them to play.

Plus, my defense hasn't played yet, so my margain will only increase.

Also, we have had some crazy high scores in this league. I suspect fantasy enhancing drugs.

Same as the B-league. Some really high scores in there.
Hey all, I need another RB. I'd be willing to part with a WR or TE, or maybe even Michael Vick for the right RB. Any takers?
i have frank gore, steven jackson, and reggie bush...but I see no way I can get an even halfway decent trade for either of those 3.

I am listening though. I can't play all 3 at once.
This week is projecting to be a little harder. I'd wager my Cincy offense gets shut down in Pittsburgh. Maybe I should start Plummer over Palmer. I bet I'm 2-1 after this week then back to business as usual.

Take a look at my team--I've got Thomas Jones and Kevin Jones to offer.
