Looking forward to both of these. Also reminds me I have to pick up the audiobook that Bruce Campbell did for his last novel.

I'm not a trucker, but I do have a 60 mile (one way) commute every day, so I love picking up audio books and listening to them on my traffic filled drive. It really helps make it go faster. So I, for one, am looking forward to checking this out - though I might be a cheapskate (does anyone use this word anymore?) and wait till the library gets it.

Yeah, that is the only problem... it is 30 bucks.

Oh, and I'll admit to listening to audiobooks before- it's just that I find most of them very boring and hard to follow- and humorous whenever one of the speakers does different voices. Then again, I travel to work via subway, so I've always got time to read.

My favorite is when they put on an "effeminate" voice for a female character. They end up sounding like a chain-smoking 50 year old tranny who has turned one to many tricks for vacationing business men in Brazil.

I went to Ebay and scooped up one of the advanced reader's editions for 15 bucks, but the audiobook sounds just as interesting so I guess I'll shell out some more dough when that one ships. It'd be interesting if they got Michael Stipe to read for his character in the book.

Also, If you have iTunes you can download a podcast of the first three episodes.

Thanks for the tip- I updated the article and checked it out for myself. Runs a little dry, I think.... hmm. I'm definitely going to pick up the book but I'm not too sure about this audiobook now.

Sweet, definitely checking this out. Prochnow and Hamill should be especially excellent.

Listening to it now, I like how they're taking an international approach to it; not just the standard backwoods/underground lab scenario.

Well, I dug it. Love the way they are building up the threat, ever so slowly. Not to pimp iTunes, but they say you get a free copy of Brooks' Survival Guide if you download the audiobook.

I received the book in the mail this afternoon and cracked it open right away. The international angle is nice and I like the detail they go into about how the infection was able to spread across the numerous borders under several different circumstances.

Anyway, I'm only a quarter into it, but I like it so far. That it's written less as a novel and more like an actual historical document is a nice twist and it makes the situation seem more realistic. I dig it.
