The Original Wicker Man featured an island of pagans being investigated by the uber Christian scotland yard detective in reference to a letter he receives claiming that a little girl has disapeared.
ITs a fun little movie really, I quite enjoyed it.
So of course, like all cult films, it has been remade into something more edgy, effects driven and pointless. No I haven't seen it, but I've heard enough to make my eyes roll far back into my head.
In the original, the main character's virginity was a major driving point.
In this version, from what I understand, its an allergy to bees.
I have read, and no I can't find a reference, that bees represented virginity in Medievel art, but really, I don't think its going to come to teh same thing.
I probably will still see this picture, and will very likely sit through the ending credits bad mouthing it.
Anyone else planning to see this?
eta: As a bonus though, the original is coming out on DVD...sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet
So I guess I can thank Nick Cage for that at least
