Infamous CHUD-Thread Meltdowns

Thread Starter
After reading the "Let's Get Optimus Primed to Complain" Thread and seeing certain people going absolutely mental about robot-designs and after babas meltdown the other day:
I am curious about other legendary meltdowns in threads i am not aware of.

Entertainment at it´s best!

What other threads are there that are highly recommended for user loosing it?
Jabba.
Can someone please post a link to Baba's meltdown? I must have missed it.

I love feverish meltdowns. I hope to have my own one day!

That is Baba´s meltdown.

http://chud.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94122

...and it´s brilliant!

Though what or who is or was Jabba? I feel lost.
And Links would be nice anyway!
There is no one thread to describe Jabba's meltdown. It spanned many threads, forums, and lives.

I remember a chewer by the name of Rottenjesus and some other guy whose name I forget, they had a war going in the Star Wars episode 3 thread. Rotten had a few meltdowns. If I remember right I think they both ended up getting banned.
So that's what happend to Baba. I knew I should've paid more attention to that thread. It almost deservies it's own Wikipedia entry.
The only meltdown going on in the transformers thread is Megatron's face, no need to panic people.
Didn't Wetbones have a meltdown?
The only thing I really remember was him requesting Nick remove all of his posts, which makes me think people from his real life discovered or came close to discovering his plethora of disturbing posts.

Wait...Rotten was banned? Ryan Rotten? Or someone else?

What the fuck kind of communist police state did this place become in my absence?

Look at the members list.

A different fellow altogether, Django.

Don Murphy went berserk a few times.

Didn't he do this on numerous occasions?

One of my favorites was Angelus, both for his inexplicable (at the time) hatred for the upcoming Matrix sequels, and his blind love for T3.

Terminator and Matrix ( Or Why Are People So Fickle?)

Someone else.
Ryan left Creature Corner to write for Fangoria. I guess that makes him a traitor and an enemy of the state. xXx!!! OMG!!

It's kind of fun reading through this thread even though some posts were deleted.

That thread was fun and it should be used to answer a lot of people's question about the CHUD Message Boards.

Cosmoline doesn't really count. You can't point to one particular thread. Basically every single post he made was a meltdown.

That thread is something else. I love hearing people tell others "You obviously didn't get it." How do they know they got it? Is there a little booklet that is available to certain people that explains each & every movie to them?

That has to be some of the most egotistical bullshit I have ever read. Sure, someone may view a thing differently to you but to hound them over it? Get a fucking grip people!
Thanks, Ade. And that's hardly a "meltdown". It's someone defending themselves from assholes.

Yeah. Well, I'm sorry for whoever humiliated you, but some films are more open to interpretation than others, and some films actually have points to make/get.

Looking over that thread, Diva, the other side may have been loaded with assoles, but you didn't really bring much to the table.

I wasn't aware I'd been humiliated but there you go. Now let's kill this one before wadew1 is proved correct!
A work of art is open to some interpretation, but if you always thought Purple Haze was a beautiful love song because you thought Hendrix said "Excuse me while I kiss this guy" you would be wrong. That doesn't mean you didn't have an experience, but upon interpreting the work of art you'd be wrong. I really don't think that point is arguable, so I don't get how you could possibly defend what Diva was saying, and so I must extrapolate personal humilation.
What I dislike is one person telling another that "this is what it means" as if it's set in stone. What I was seeing looked like opinions or interpretations to me. Now I'm not afraid to admit being wrong but a lot of that seemed like vicious snobbery to me. I mean, are you so sure your interpretation is correct?

And even if it is correct & another person doesn't agree, there was some stuff in that thread that was over the top in being simply mean. I know there is a lot of that on CHUD but on the whole it's kept pretty tongue in cheek, but not that time.
The only thing is, Diva didn't have an interpretation that others were disagreeing with, she had a lame criticism of the movie admittedly based on a mistaken expectation. And enough stubborness not to let it go for 75 or 100 posts.
This will be my last post on the topic, but in that thread I conceded the fact several times over that I needed to watch the movie again. Yet after saying that, I still got pounded with the "you don't get it" rhetoric. It's evident from the thread that there were people who engaged in actual discussion with me in an attempt to get me to see the bigger picture of the film (I want to thank cognizant because he was really patient with me) and those who just just wanted to call me stupid.

And while I can't speak for Ade, I think he's less about defending what I was saying and more defending my right to say it. Right or wrong, people have a right to express their opinions and these message boards are a vehicle to do so. People learn and grow by exposing themselves to new ideas and people and fortunately there were some people in that thread who were willing to engage in civil discourse with me (that's why I stayed in the thread for 100 posts, Scwartz).

For the record, straxboy has since apologized to me via PM for the way he had treated me and we have put aside our differences. It's pathetic that slater and Andre still feel the need to latch onto a thread that ocurred almost two years ago as some sort of trophy. If that's what they need to boost their sad and lonely lives so be it. Glad I could help you out boys.
Here's the thing Diva, you kept arguing you had a right to an opinion on a film you didn't understand. It's not about being pathetic in being repetitively abusive, it's about the very nature of discourse. You were told, repeatedly, that you didn't know what you were talking about, and kept talking about it. I know it's a fool's errand to tell ignorant people that they're ignorant and that they should shut the fuck up, but because I love intelligent discourse, I could not help myself. And this wasn't an opinion of you not getting it, it was a fact that you didn't get it. But you kept blathering on. Admittedly it was and is hilarious that you wouldn't let it go. That's why I enjoyed re-reading it when it was linked.

The reason why people are mean about "help with my homework" threads, is that the "discussion" you wanted would have involved everyone around you doing the heavy lifting. It took getting slapped around a couple of times for you to admit that mabye you missed it. Wow, what a great conversation. Yes, people can learn from such a thing, but it sounds like you haven't rewatched it, and it took a while for you to understand how ignorant you were about the whole thing. You accused people of being critical of you of being wrong and sick. The reason why it looks like a bunch of people are beating up on you in that thread is because most of the people making fun of you did it well, and because your position was and is untenable. But I hope you learned something.

No Copperlocke? Of course it was more breakdown than meltdown but nevertheless. I'm sure her boobies are still floating around the internet just waiting to turn some hapless hetero youngster into Christopher Lowell.

I think that one sorta takes care of it.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned:

spidermanfreak20 - Why CARS will suck, the weird things was, he was correct!

And...the most bonkers of all,

olivemarie - What Phantom star Peter Karrie is really like

Nothing in recent times even comes close the the sheer insanity of that thread.

Ah, but what's left, the random ravings quoted in other's posts, is a poignant reminder of just how whacked-out old olivemarie really is.
Yeah, but to be fair olivemarie wasn't a CHUD poster that melted. She/They/It came here specifically to spread the word about the evils of Peter Karrie, PHANTOM star and all-around kiddie-fiddler.

Thank you Sir for pointing this one out! You just made my day.
This even exeeds my highest expectations...or fears.
Can it get any better than this? I sure hope not, because otherwise I will get fired from work. CHUD is not healthy.

So many names, so much history!

It's like a reunion...only with no free food, drinks or old flames lookin' to hook up.

i wish Michael Bay still posted.
Most of the CHUD political forum melted down spectacularly in the wake of the 2004 Presidential Election.

I actually like the amazon.com return/snafu thread more then the Battle Royale one (sorry Diva . . . don't mean to pick on you, but this was a funny thread).

One last thing about Baba... I post on the wrestling thread (I know, I know), so I was quite familiar with him. He was passionate, but had the bad habit of taking a different opinion personally. I agreed with him most of the time, and I was pretty friendly with him. Watching him melt down in that thread was brutal. After a certain point, bannination was inevitable.

Man... reading that thread again... I miss Brad. That bastard is to snark what Bruce Lee was to nunchakus.
I usually find the amount of Diva bashing that goes on here by some to be a little excessive, but the fact that she took it upon herself to remove every one of her posts this Thanksgiving in both the "Battle Royale" and "Arrested Development" threads mentioned here I think falls into the Pathetic category.

Now if she had edited them with "** Post Removed by Daughter **", it at least would have been slightly funny.
