Huge Furry convention in Jersey recently, I guess.

The Furry convention was back in June. Try and keep up.

One problem with old timers leaving is having so much extra space in each thread for someone else to bring up Die Hard, Heat, or T2 yet again.

I said that in another thread, and I still agree with it. If "they" really are logging into the board every day, and reading all these threads about how people miss them - then we are the suckers and they must be laughing their asses off. Watching us debate on whether or not they were good for the board. Talk about an ego trip. I feel silly even talking about what happened to a bunch of grown men who used to publicly debase other people who might not happen to have great taste in movies, but still loved movies. There is a big difference between a shill or a troll and someone like Kueller.

I agree with Nick. Get to know other people. At some point Werbal, Dan, Millitte were some n00b, and someone else who probably doesn't post here anymore called them cunts on a daily basis for all their Matrix or Episode One smack they were running. Plus, there are still several 10,000 plus posters here, full of bitter, old man, geekisms if you need your fill. Look up Slater or Devin - I'm sure they will give you a written slap to the face if you really want one (sorry to sound redundant on what Diva said).

If they come back, fine, if not, I'm pretty sure we can all make new friends - or enemies in Kueller's case. Hell, Kueller might be the fucking tits, but we'll never know because he became a message board "enemy" of some of the l33t's that were on patrol here. The sad part is all the lemming-like behavior that went around bashing the guy simply for the sake of bashing.

The above does in no way make me a defender of Kueller's though. I got a fucking reputation to protect. The guy is a fucking douche.

I'm sure new patrol will step in their place. It's very much a fraternity here. People graduate, move on, but the spirit lives on due to the insane amount of hazing you went through. Maybe, Brad, Werbal, Dan and them were just preparing new ranks - knowing they must move on. Somehow, though, I think I'm giving them way to much credit.

FYI: I really having nothing against any of them, in fact they were quite fun to read all the time. I just laugh at all the posts about how them leaving will ruin CHUD for the posters.

I'll agree with Nick that there's plenty more good folks here but to lose a handful of guys like that sucks. The soccer threads won't work too well w/o Charlie, I need to hear him complain about Newcastle FC! And how can I live w/o my daily email to let me know that Millette is "doing the Bravehost thing?"

Are we now doomed to never see the next "Fatty Werbal" strip? And as for Dan, well the guy is just priceless! I do hope they'll return, simply because I've always enjoyed their stuff.

Oh, and you too Mr. Clarke. One of the first Chewers to help me out when I joined the boards.

I don't know if this is the proper forum to ask this since he never posted all that much, probably to his credit, but is Dave still writing for the site? I haven't seen his byline lately and I've kind of missed his updates on the main page.

Wasn't he just in the recent Babe draft? Hopefully everything's OK.

People have other and hopefully better things to do then simply post here all the time. But the problem with a lot of old timers is simply just how many times can we have the same discussions on the same core group of films? And like someone said before...the new stuff isn't worth talking about.

What's bad is when people freak out or take pride in their absence. Just because someone doesn't post in a few days doesn't mean they're gone. Just means there isn't anything worth speaking up over.

Now cue one of the usual suspects to try and turn one or both of these paragraphs against me...
