Star Wars Transformers - what the f*ck?

Like I haven't been injured enough by the prequels, now I have to deal with the existence of this?

A TIE fighter than transforms into a Vader mech? An X-Wing that converts to a Skywalker mech?

Bullshit. This is like starting the day with a prostate exam. Grrrrr.

Those have been out for over a year.

I'm annoyed because I've had an annoying week - painful cavity in a wisdom tooth, problems with my tenant back in NY, problems with my landlord in California, looking for a new place in the East Bay, wife is moody due to her deceased mother's birthday, etc., etc. - and I've decided to direct my ire to an inconsequential toy because I'm at an impasse with my other troubles. That's why I'm overreacting to something I find genuinely stupid, but trivial.

2) I find it genuinely stupid because there's a silliness inherent to the Transformers concept that I don't find in Star Wars (at least the original trilogy.) It would be the same if Hasbro released a Batmobile that transformed into a Batman-mech, or an Aston Martin that transformed into a James Bond-mech. Some find the Batman and James Bond concepts on a level of silliness as Transformers, I do not. It just rubs me the wrong way. So, I lash out.

3) Out for a year? I had no idea, I just saw them for the first time on TV today.

So, that's why I reacted as I did.

sounds awesome.

Especially if they were the Bat robots from Kingdom Come.

Holy shit, that's a great idea.

This annoys me too. I just saw them on TV the other day as well. The falcon turns into han AND chewbacca mechs? Retardoville.

Oh, and one of my wisdom teeth is dreadfully painful right now too. I feel your pain.

If I got those things for Christmas I would be so pissed. They are too transformers to play star wars and too star wars to play transformers. I would have ended up playing alone in my room with the Victorias Secret catalog. ( which is where I spent most afternoons anyway )

Compare and contrast

And why are they still using the Rebel Alliance logo if the designs aren't going to stay faithful?

I saw these in Wal-Mart--especially the Chewie and Han Solo ones that combined to be the Millenium Falcon--and I thought they looked pretty cool. Almost considered buying one....almost.

I just saw the commercial for these for the first time and I fucking hate them. It's just stupid shit that shouldn't exist.

But... they're toys. They're meant for kids. If you don't like them, ignore them. Like those Beast Wars Transformers or the millions of technicolor Batman figures Kenner releases with snap-on armor and whatnot.

If you're not offended by SW Legos, why SW Transformers?
