Philadelphia-Comic Book Store

Any recommendations on comic book stores in the downtown Philadelphia area? I am going to be here for the next week so...

Fat Jack's is the area's traditional institution (Joe Matt worked there!). There's also Showcase comics. Both are run-of-the mill shops.

I usually head to Showcase comics on south street. There is one comic shop off of 15th and chestnut in center city, but they don't have as big a selection as Showcase. They seem to have more t-shirts about comic characters than actual comics but it's still a pretty decent store.

I prefer Fat Jack's over Showcase. Showcase's combo of sloppy filing of new titles, creepy-annoying employees and often-smelly regulars send more toward Fat Jack's every time. It's bigger, has WAY more back issues, and sometimes has decent sales.

Thanks for the recommendations. I made it to both Fat Jacks and the shop in Center City 15th and Chestnut. Fat Jacks did have a pretty good collection of back issues...

Now back to the cold of Minnesota.
