Marvel Comics and Time Travel

I'm trying to make a point to a friend over at AV (www.andersonvision.com)

I state that nearly everyone in the Marvel Universe (hero or villain) has time travelled at least once. These guys time travel more than the original Star Trek crew and I wanted to prove my point.

So, I've decided to enlist the Comic Lovin' Chewers in my quest for Marvel Temporal proof.

I want to make a list of what character has time travelled with issue reference to prove the case. Roughly a list of 500 characters would cover it, so I'll start it off here.

1) Wonder Man - West Coast Avengers #17
2) Iron Man - Iron Man #150
3) Bishop - Age of Apocalypse Crossover

You should just make a list of character who haven't time travelled.

Anyways;

Spider-man, Vision, Scarlet Witch
Marvel Team-Up I#41

Fantastic Four #19
FF team and Kang the conqueror

Silver Surfer--in #6 of his comic (first series).

Hulk, the Leader, She-Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Wasp, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel (female version)--Incredible Hulk #284

Yeah, a list of folks who haven't might indeed be easier.

I've been using the whole Kang paradox and branching off from there.

Well, Gwen apparently had time to secretly get knocked up by the Green Goblin and deliver twins in France...so who knows, she could've gotten involved in a Time War while Spider-Man was busy fighting the Vulture.

This is a bit too crazy a list for anyone, methinks.

Has Deathlok ever time traveled?

I thought Deathlok traveled around in time constantly, at least, the original did.

Since it now turns out Bucky is alive, it's only a matter of time before he time-travels.

Howard the Duck-- Bizarre Adventures #34
Spider-Girl-- Spider-Girl #10

The Runaways and most of the Young Avengers haven't...unless altering the time-space continuum counts...

Ditto for Jess Jones

The Great Lakes Champions haven't either I don't believe.

It gets weird here, because the original Deathlok came from a "near-future alternate reality". Near-future, though, so he did travel through time, technically.

The second Deathlok, I think, went back and forth in time at some point in his series. There was some funky cross-time/reality stuff involving him, the old Deathlok, and Captain America.

Well, what I've been finding out is that the entire Marvel Universe time travels deal around the Kang Paradox.

Which in itself is part of the Nathaniel Richards fuckup that begat so many of the classic villains.

Bishop is from the future, but not the Age of Apocalypse world.
He had nothing to do with that crossover.

He was the only person who remembered the previous timeline, he was a key (if not the key) character to the whole thing, you may not be remembering this very well.

I was going to include the initial Uncanny issues that Byrne and Portacio did with Bishop, but I never bothered to initial the first post. Still, the AOA stuff stands. Re-read Legion Quest and the first few books of AOA regarding why it sticks.

12) Yellowjacket - Avengers Forever #4

I should go and dig out my old X-men comics and re-read them, even though i tend to hate superhero comics now.

If you hate superhero comics, then reading '90s era X-Men is like masturbating with a flaming cheese grater.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

If you hate superhero comics, you shouldn't be reading comics.

I think some might argue that that mentality is one of the bigger problems with the industry right now.

X-men really started to suck after Claremont quit.

I´m waiting for Marvel to announce Robert Crumb as the next Amazing Spider-man artist.

X-Men had some high points after Claremont left. Mark Waid had a decent run on adjectiveless before he got booted from the XBooks.

Hell, I enjoyed Steven Seagle and Joe Kelly's one-two punch on both of the core titles while it lasted.

Peter Bagge did Spidey once, hell if Crumb would go for it...Quesada would probably go after him.

Joss Whedon´s stuff was also great.Really surprising, because i hate Buffy.
