Werewolf News

The pics from Big Bad Wolf look interesting (and a little reminiscent of Kibakichi): http://www.creature-corner.com/?type=news&id=1661

Being a Monster movie freak, I'm always up for a good (and maybe even bad) werewolf flick.
I'm a fan of Amer WW in London, the Wolfman (Univ), Hammer's: Curse of the WW, Silver Bullet, Wolf, Company of Wolves, a good portion of the Howling series, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps trilogy, Underworld (sorry)... I even own Teen Wolf 1&2, Full Eclipse & Bad Moon. Monster Squad & Waxwork both contain some decent lycanthropes (Van Helsing maybe).

With that said, any recent word on Skinwalkers?... IMDB says release in April 2007. Any news on Marvel's Werewolf By Night movie or Full Moon Fever?

Can anyone recommend the Spanish Naschy werewolf movies? Or Beast Within?

I found this brief online WW guide: http://www.processionofthedamned.com/werewolf.htm

And a whole site dedicated: http://www.werewolf-movies.com/

*Werewolf ('96) and Darkwolf are a little painful to get through, but I found Beast of Bray Road, Amer WW in Paris, and Cursed remotely entertaining.

More werewolf news there. It really does seem like there's going to be a huge ressugence of werewolf movies- which is going to suck for a while, but I'm sure we'll get at least one gem out of all of these.

There was a clip from Skinwalkers online somewhere that was so terrible I didn't even want to put it on the site. Really have no interest in that one now...

Thanks, Alex.
Also came across this thread that answers some of my questions: http://chud.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83350

Found that Skinwalkers clip- http://horror.about.com/od/trailersc...vid_swclip.htm

Makes the movie look about on level with Cursed.

(I'm sorry... that wasn't nice of me...)

Are there any good werewolf movies, American Werewolf in London aside?

EDIT: And The Wolfman with Lon Cheney, of course.

First Howling was decent enough and the entire Ginger Snaps Trilogy was great.

Agreed and I think British WW flicks, Neil Jordan's Company of Wolves and Neil Marshall's Dog Soldiers, are nice original entries to the genre.

I still find it funny that they named Howling 2 Your Sister Is a Werewolf. That original is so fucking good, too.

A Joe Dante/Rob Bottin/Robert Picardo triumvirate does Rock the Casbah.

I've got the perfect story with the first act committed to screenplay that I can't believe hasn't been told yet.

Don't forget to add the Junior at the end of Cheney. Four sequels that have their moments: Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), House of Frankenstein (1944), House of Dracula (1945), Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). Don't be fooled by the last ones title, it's not only a funny movie, but a solid horror flick.

Although not really a werewolf flick, Ladyhawke is just a great movie.

The Company of Wolves was more than just a werewolf movie. A heady exploration of the frightening yet alluring nature of sexual awakening using the traditional language of the werewolf film, "Company" broke ground that has long since been untread.

It's a great dark fairy tale (wrapped in Grimm trappings). I love the horror/fairy tale crossover sub-genre and can't wait for Pan's Lab to hit theaters as well.

I didn't discover Company of Wolves until I was older and I loved it at first sight. It's got some great little gothic Storyteller-ish tales, an awesome original transformation, and Terence Stamp cameo-ing as Old Scratch himself.

A fucking awesome poster of a guy with a wolf's snout coming out of his mouth.

The poster is the only good thing about this movie.

A great poster that should have delivered, but instead we get some lame dream about Little Red Riding Hood.

Saw this in another CHUD thread:

VH1 Rewind: 10 Great Werewolf Films That Aren't 'Teen Wolf'

Despite what you think of the entries or order, the fact's are incorrect: Rob Bottin did the effects for the Howling, not Rick Baker.

Edited to remove description of idea: I really hope we're not thinking along the same lines (sorry...I just don't feel comfortable having the idea out in the open at this time).

Finally. I've only had those stills to go on. I could never get that old video clip to work.

EDIT: Found one clip here. What the heck are those harnesses for?

Yeah, it does look a tad silly, but it can't/won't be as bad as Cursed.

And the Dog Soldiers bashing is just uncalled for... I really like that one.
dog soldiers would rule if the werewolves looked anything short of ridiculous. that's a kickass movie, but i can't get past the man-in-suit aspect.
