What is that?

The concept for the game is much more interesting than that video/

Peter Jackson isn't doing Halo Wars, he has his own Halo project with Wingnut Interactive.

My bad. Edited.

Thanks. PJ is doing something else in the Halo universe that "is not Halo 3 or 4" as he said.

Cool video... Interesting concept...? Not all that inspired.

Interesting to see how they'll get a standard RTS control scheme working on a console without stripping out/simplifying a bunch of stuff.

wow...joystiq called it nicely.

And yes, I am so far pretty unimpressed. Ensemble has already gone on record stating it was a cinematic (it would be foolish to think otherwise) but apparently Bungie is stating the game is in a playable form and is wicked fun.

With this property, I except nothing but a AAA title, but I am neutral right now on it.

Rooster Teeth put up a PSA not too long ago that shows the cast discussing various pet peeves regarding movie-goers.

The Halo Wars Trailer is what's on the screen.

zomg! moar halo!

Very interested in seeing the button mapping for this. Have never been able to stomach RTS games on console (loves me some customization), but if they can do what they've said they're going to do, then alright. I am also looking forward to getting talked shit to by whiny, high pitched voice 11 year olds.

Hopefully I'll be able to whoop their ass, but we'll see...

Even if it's made for the 360, RTS + Console = shite most of the time. If this comes out for PC, I might check it out.

This game does nothing but annoy me. I would have much rather seen Ensemble work on another Ages of Empire game before being unceremoniously shut down by Microsoft instead of milking a franchise that I consider to be completely mediocre.

My love for RTS has been re-kindled with a steam purchase of DOW-Soulstorm, so im kinda excited about this now. Id love to be completely optimistic, but it seems like they always tout the newest console control scheme as being a step forward, it never really seems like it.

I'm more interested in getting my hands on Stormrise, actually, as far as RTSes tailor-made for consoles go. The controls looked pretty awesome and intuitive... but we'll see what Ensemble has up their sleeve. Really wish I could have checked out Halo Wars at E3...

Maybe you shouldn't have been...aaw fuck it, I'm just jealous and can't hate on you.

I find the appeal of this game to be "aw cute - it's all small" over the possibility of playability.

I'm not really a big Ensemble fan either. Haven't really done combat I find satisfying.

Speaking of console RTS, how did Endwar turned out to be?
This remind me of Warcraft, Starcraft, AOE, etc. I enjoyed all those back in college before the multiplayer aspect overtook the campaign as the main focus of the game. I look forward to giving this a try.

Endwar was not great.

You know what'd have worked beautifully on consoles? Ground Control.

Jesus christ, the first part of the tutorial carefully explains how you use the left analog stick to MOVE YOUR CURSOR AROUND and makes you hit three different points on the ground. Zounds! Tricky game.

You can really tell the audience they're going for...

"This isn't at ALL like Halo, brah."
"No way, brah. This shit is gay."
"Shyeah. Let's go pound some brews."

You know, it's not bad. It's definitely "RTS-lite", but it's fun enough.
Speaking as someone who absolutely hates RTSs....it's actually really fun.

Hot. Gonna put that new 120GB HD to work tonight.
Anyone buy this?
My store got a copy and I took it home, so if that counts, then yes. It's pretty fun, and the only RTS I've ever liked was StarCraft.

I like it a lot. It really is stupidly easy to play. Really dig this a lot. Wish it had more fleshed out online play though.
