Body Snatchers (1993)

Am I in the minority in thinking that this is a pretty successful, freaky movie? Sometimes it seems like it.

Nah, the 78 version is ways better.

I like them both about equally.

This is worth it only for a nude Kari Wuhrer.

I thought it was really lame and uninspired actually. The 70's version was far superior.
Isn't this due for another go around? Surely.

Do you mean Gabrielle Anwar?

He'd have too, as Kari wasn't in this.

And I still haven't forgiven Kari Wuhrer for having her breast implants removed.

Well, it is an Abel Ferrara movie written by Nicholas St. John, Stuart Gordon, Dennis Paoli and Larry Cohen...and simply on the basis of those names together on one project, it's a bit of a letdown.

The latest remake, Oliver Hirschbiegel's THE VISITING, stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Jeremy Northam and Jeffrey Wright and is due out next year.

Hold on a sec, the mother wasn't Kari? Why did I always think that?

Even so... hot naked alien milf.

That was Jennifer Tilly.

Or maybe Meg Tilly. I don't recall.

It had some good scenes, but it wasn't great.

I love the '78 version, but that's because it's one of the first films I recall seeing that actually had an effect on me.

It was Meg in the part, but the nudity was a body double.

I thought so. After I typed "Jennifer," I realized she wasn't as buxom or squeaky-voiced.

I think the highlight of the film is her "Where will you go?" speech. That, and the children's illustrations scene.

It's a cool version, but not one of the bests, particularly seeing as how it looks like we'll be getting one every generation or so.

Also starring Jeff Wincott!!!
Is he giving roundhouse kicks to pod people, like a Perfect Weapon should?
Confusing Speakman and Wincott?

BLASPHEMY!
Wincott plays the part of Schuster, I can only hope there is more to the role of Schuster than saying "Look out lady, aliens are everywhere."
I can't believe I confused the star of UNIVERSAL SOLDIER III with the star of SCORPIO ONE.
At least you didn't confuse Jeff with Michael, they despise that.

I like this version. Thought it was a nice touch setting it on a military base.
The slow-motion ending, where they hit another base, could've been better.

Oh, and one last thing - Jennifer Tilly screaming (you know... The Scream) is great, too. I remember seeing this film when I was about 14 or 15, and that part gave me such a rush.
