hahahaha

C'mon, it wasn't all that bad!

Alright, it was. But I do love me some Savini. He really needs to get away from these films. I just got another no-name film that he randomly pops up in.

i went to the motor city comicon one year. Tom Savini was hockin pictures with his autograph. I had bought a euro from dusk til dawn poster and you could tell he didnt want to sign it. I understand he's concerned with making money and not fans, but he was kind of a jerk about it. I still think he's cool, but that really rubbed me the wrong way. he was the only thing about unearthed that wasnt complete crap.

The old "I won't sign it unless you buy it here from me" crap. It's bad enough they charge $25 a pop. Explains why I have so few autographs...

Got an Elvira/Cassandra Peterson pic signed... I told her she helped kickstart my puberty. She said she was sorry for how I turned out.

And then blew me a kiss.

I told my funny Elvira story back here.

And yeah, I'm done with paying money for autographs. I remember way back at my first Chiller Theater - probably 7 or 8 years ago- I was confused when the original Dawn of the Dead guys wanted money to sign my copy of the VHS. But... we were fans! It still doesn't make sense to me. I know this is the only income for a lot of these people, but still, you can't sign someone's memorabilia or take a pic? That's bullshit.

I think there's a give and take situation with this, much like in sports memoribilia. If stars sign every thing that comes their way, and then dealers who bring them 50 items to sign immediatly go and stuff them up on e-bay, the only person making money on their autograph is these annoying dealers. If they charge for autographs/photos, then at least they're the ones getting paid, and it stops the dealers who want 50 items signed.

From a fan perspective, I think they should sign one (and only one) item for free, and charge for everything after the first.

Oh, I agree with that. Those people with their arms full of posters, dvds and shirts waiting on line for a signing always make me laugh.

But- hell, no one's turning around and selling Elvira signatures on ebay, or Ken Foree ones. At least I hope not.

I don't know- doesn't make much difference to me if I get the signature of someone. Used to be all about it as a kid, but think it's kinda silly now.

EDITED for content:

I worked on Unearthed as a crew guy for a little while. It was generally a confused set, and the crew guys did a lot of standing around not knowing what was happening.
