I'm finding it interesting that everything's being released on these dvd/hd-dvd combos. Makes sense for them.... some people will probably shell out the money for it if they know they're going to be able to get a better quality version when they pick up their players later.

But yeah- I need this dvd.

Oh and psst.... might be having a contest to win this disc....

That swollen belly looks kinda fake...

Anyhoo, probably rent this sometime.

dont bother, you'll probably think its stupid. go see the grudge 2 instead. that's where the magic of cinema sucks you into a reality not unlike your own.

Ooh... Like a rasslin' match? Mano e mano! Or a contest... of the minds? Like mind Jenga? Dueling banjos?

Kitten juggling?

It truly is a fun flick. I'm dying to find out what the contest is. Alex, you tease.

I'm upset you didn't get my Grudge meowing kid reference. ;_;

Me-OW!... nevermind...

I won't hold a grudge. But give me a ring if you don't have your finger on the pulse of J-Horror and you need some help.

EDIT: sorry. that was painful.

I enjoyed the movie when it came out. I must have been one of only 10 people who saw it, judging by how much it made during it's theatrical run. I'm actually surprised at it coming out so late in the year. Most movies come out within 3 to 4 months, and this was released back in march. I also like the hd/regular dvd combo. I might pick that up if the price is right. If not, I'll just stick with the regular dvd. Gregg Henry was the shit in Slither. He finally got to do comedy, and he did it well.

It sucks knowing that WOM couldn't have saved it, because it was gone in a week or 2. It's opening weekend or nothing anymore. Makes you wonder if some other films in the past that grew via word of mouth and turned around a successful BO would do the same in today's climate.

It will be my job to show this dvd to everyone who'll let me. I tried to get them to go with me to the theaters (I had to hunt down a location 2nd week), but now I'm knocking on their doors, dvd in hand.

God, did I just sound like Slug-coat?

Gah- I got shafted on the contest. Sorry, guys.... it wasn't my fault.

But I've got a review courtesy HAM- check it out.

Let me echo his thoughts- you all have to see this.

its sad that the movie didn't make any money. i could hear the few people in the theater talking about how stupid it was when everyone was walking out. i really hope people discover it now thats it coming to dvd. i think i liked it even more than hostel.

Just my 2 cents, but I think the whole problem was even the studio didn't know who to promote it, was it a horror movie, was it a comedy or was it a nice combination of both. They did more pushing it as a comedy if you ask me, even the dvd spots on tv make it look like a straight out comedy. Come on, Air Supply?!?

Always good to hear from HAM...Hopefully he's doing well.

As for Slither, it was pretty good. I wonder if it would've done better if it was sold as a straight horror flick.

I'm one of the fuckers that missed it in the theater, but I will be picking it up tomarrow/today.

I love this film - but only because i try. James Gunn, Banks and Fillion - not to mention gore, awesome FX and Rooker schooling them all - contribute to something I should enjoy.

Sadly the comedy isnt funny and the horror not scary. It is a great 'throwback' piece and will keep you entertained, but ulitmately its a little forgettable and a tad forced-pleasure as I say.

Extras on the deev look good though...

I totally disagree with you. The amazing performances, manic craziness and fantastic gore make slither a totally memorable film.

I picked this up along with FEAST (which I haven't seen) today. I'll be having a snazzy double-feature this Halloween weekend...

in my opinion, feast wasn't funny when it was trying to be but you might enjoy it as we all have different tastes. i thought slither was great, but i really like james gunn and am a huge firefly (nathan fillion) fan. i just picked up the dvd, and its really great. i hope people end up liking it because the people in the theater when i went and hated it and were big grudge fans. michael rooker is good in it.

Watched SLITHER last night, and loved it. I assumed I would, but I had pretty high expectations for it - and we know how hard that can be.

Nathan Fillion is the man! I already liked the guy from his Browncoat days, but he was absolutely perfect in the role of Bill Pardy (and of course the DVD extras were great - I loved the whole "I am Bill Pardy" bit). I gotta say though, I think Gregg Henry (I have never laughed so hard at someone wanting a soda in my life) as the Mayor, stole the show. He was awesome!

So, basically all the Chud-Love that this move got - well deserved. I am gonna watch FEAST this weekend, so let's hope that is as good as well.

Oh it gets love, I was just hoping for something in between Shaun of the Dead and Tremors and it fell a little short. Just a big Gunn and Fillion fan, musta over hyped in my head....
