looking forward to snagging it

I was really hoping the artwork would be closer to the one they debuted at the announcement, but oh well.
i was also wondering if there's a remaster--i'll have to check my old copy.

im pretty sure they didn't remaster it, but then again...the new dvd may not be perfect, but if its the same one that came out years ago than that old one was a pretty good dvd.

I'm glad they didn't remaster as good as most films, these films benefit more from looking like a gritty, nasty snuff film. When I heard the original had been remastered I was kinda scared of it looking too good, ruining it's grimy look, but it didn't, the 5.1 sound was welcomed however.
TCM 2 left me cold when I saw it the first time, but after Part III, the insanely awful Next Generation and the two remakes; this and the original are the only two I will ever claim.

I like it a little better now. Hooper has some nice shots in the lair and Dennis Hopper gives an entertaining performance.

Once again, great review, Kev!
