You know, this one ain't half bad. It's not a great movie by any stretch, but it's pretty interesting what they did with the concept. Lame ending, though.

Although, count me in as a fan of the first- such a guilty pleasure...

I loved the first film, no guilty pleasure for me at all.

I think the guilt has to do with getting over the non-acting of Mr. Kutcher. It's a pretty damn good movie if you ignore that.

A solid point. The only film I own starring Mr. Demi Moore.

This is the first time I've even heard of a sequel to this movie. The first had a pretty good concept but felt kinda watered down. Is this one any better?

The only thing I'm interested in is how does the guy time travel in this movie?

In the last one, it was a Y chromosome trait that was passed down the males in his family that somehow allowed him to.

Is the guy related to Evan at all??

They don't explain it- he just does. No mention of the character from the first.

The main difference in this one, is that after he tries to change a horrible accident that happened in his future he uses his "power" to start making his life better- and of course things don't work out as planned. He's also a little bit older, a corporate type. Pretty well acted, considering its DTV. Just that damn ending. It's not better than the original, though.

I think it's coming out next week- I should have a review up soon.

Fuck that ending with an oyster fork.

Erica Durance is hot fucking stuff.

I found the original to be a miserable, unpleasant experience. It was so sleazy and disturbing, seemingly to no end. There's no point, no moral, and no logic behind the science. Plus, Kutcher is terrible in it. I think there were elements to appreciate, but I profoundly disliked the experience.

I shared those sentiments. Granted, I was in a bad mood when I went to the theater, but the movie made me feel worse. I think it's quite possibly the only time a movie felt downright annoying. (This coming from someone that's sat through Faces of Death IV). Maybe my adverse reaction was due to my fascination with the basic concept (multiple realties, etc.) and profound disappointment with how insipidly it was presented.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT is one of the most unintentionally hilarious movies I've ever seen. Scarred prostitute Amy Smart, paedophile Eric Stoltz, the professional block of wood that is Ashton Kutcher....outstanding.

The first one is enjoyable enough. I don't go to the movies to learn about science.

Part 2 is mostly fine, except for the that ending that Alex pointed out.

The science could''ve been as wonky as all get-out in BE and I wouldn't have cared. It's the complete seriousness of the delivery that slays me.
