The Night of the Demons Series

The first 2 movies are a whole lot of fun. The last one, not so much.

I've only seen the first one, and I think it's okay. If you have to watch a demon movie, you're much better off with the Bava/Argento ones.

Night of the Demons is almost worth it for the bizarre lipstick scene. What the point of that scene was or where that scene came from puzzles me to this day.

The lipstick scene is the only one I remember, strangely enough.

Linnea Quigly took her top off in countless films. Here's one time everyone remembers. Plot wise, it was to assure you she's demon possessed, but the obvious ulterior motive was to have a memorable scene in an otherwise unremarkable film.

I gotta agree, the Night of the Demons movies as a whole are nothing special. the coolest thing about them, was when part 2 was released on video (tape!) and i was working at Blockbuster. If the store ordered a three pack, they got Skully Pops, little lolliy pops that looked like Skulls! Our store didn't get them. Fuckers.

Well, I think the first 2 movies are definitely a cut above a lot of other stuff. I mean, the second one has super soakers filled with holy water, an ass kicking nun, and a girl whose boobs turn into hands, not to mention the return of the lipstick tube from the first film. I had a good time with it.

I'd say the first two movies are really worth checking out if you haven't seen them, even if you don't end up digging them that much.

i like that kid that wears the pig snout...
number 2 was pretty sweet. they're good eighties/early nineties horror...the kind of movies that will never get made again.

I very much liked Night of the Demons 2

I have fondness for Night of the Demons 2. I was fortunate enough to be at the premiere of that one due to a friend who worked craft service on the film. They gave out the little skull pops mentioned here that night. What I can say was the film was light hearted, tongue in cheek and had a pretty cool snake-monster at the end. It also marked the first and only time I've been felt up by a producer. At the after party, someone came by with a positive review from the early edition of the LA Times and everyone was pretty juiced. Pretty much everyone from the film who didn't show their breasts were there, minus Christine whats her name that married Ben Stiller. Zoe Trilling and her two floppy friends were not in attendance.
For anyone who has only seen the first one, check this one out. It is by far the better film. From the hilarious Jehovah's witness talking to Angela about Jesus at the beginning to the aforementioned snake monster, it was a good little horror romp that exceeded expectations. They actually gave them more money to do the finale on the strength of the dailies and it did have a limited theatrical release. Amelia Kincade was the belle of the ball and loved every minute of it. I formed an acquaintanceship with her for about a year thereafter due to mutual friends. Last I heard she's a pet psychic.......about which I have no comment.
Still good little horror film, by far better than the original and part three.

I actually saw this a t a midnight showing. My friends and I were the only people in attendance. That added to the experience, creating a fun horror movie viewing. It felt like our private theater. So while I remember enjoying the movie, I am not shore if it was just the way I saw it that gives me that memory.

It well might have affected the viewing experience. It's the kind of movie (like The Convent) that it's fun to throw in a little comment at the screen here and there. I try not to do that when others are in attendance out of respect, but yes, that would have been fun. It's no great film art or anything but it had its' heart in the right place. I still like it, I'd love to have a copy on DVD but I've only seen it on VHS up to this point.
