Devil's Rain

I'm sorry, but this movie's better than a 3/10.

The presence of Shatner, Skerrit, Albert, and Devil-Goat Borgnine alone is worth a 4.

It IS slow, and the melting goes on a bit, but let's just call it a classic and leave it at that.

It's kind of fun reading a review by someone who doesn't realize what a cult classic it is. Really puts the film in the harsh light of actual scrutiny.

So is this not as good as my 10 year old self remembers it, or do we need (no bashing on Eileen intended) a horror addicts perspective before deciding on a rewatch?

Borgnine doing Orcus was pretty cool back then. Someone will pay if that memory gets tarnished.

This review has put it near the top of my queue. Hopefully I'll have that report for you by next week.

Many thanks for taking one for the team. I've already destroyed way too many childhood memories thanks to the recent lack of interesting new DVD releases.

There's some great pics from this at Bad Movies

I have the original dvd release. I wonder if this transfer's any better, since the commentary sounds dull.
The new improved cover art is almost enough reason to double-dip, but not quite.

Don't forget that you may want to do some laundry, make a sandwich or go #2 during the 30 minute melting scene at the end. Doesn't make the movie less good though, just more better and more super-classic.

The Shat gets sacrficed and Borgnine turns into a Devil goat, hell yes it's worth it!

I have this on Laserdic and it's always looked fuzzy. Is the DVD any better?

Travolta has a bit part as one of the cult members.

Pretty clear throughout with a few exceptions where the film shows it's age.

Hey, to each their own. If you dig this movie and consider it a cult classic that's great. Happy viewing.

I am, I truly am.

I *personally* would give it a solid 7

but if I was writing a review, I would factor in it's cult status and also the fact that for some people,
these actors and the Satan get-up is as close to Valhalla that cinema gets and I would up the rating accordingly, like I said, to at least a 4.

That being said, I am just happy you reviewed it. I didn't know there was a new edition coming. Plus this is the first thread I have ever started.
