I simply wanted to get that Van Helsing Thread off the forum screen.
Just so that this post serves some other purpose, I will now review an obscure old movie: Across the Pacific finally came out on DVD. It reunites basically the entire cast of the Maltese Falcon (Bogart, Greenstreet, Astor) with John Huston again directing.
The plot-line, with Bogart attempting to foil a Japanese spy ring bent on pre-emptively attacking the U.S., is not only straight out of James Bond but feels almost prescient, considering that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor while the movie was being filmed.
The forgotten Bogart classic, IMHO, and racist caricatures aside its a darned entertaining flick.
