Body Double S.E.

I just got it the other day. I'd actually never seen the film in widescreen before, so it was quite a trip to watch the new DVD. The lengthy featurettes with interviews with De Palma, Melanie Griffith, and Deborah Shelton give a lot of insight into the making of the film and how it was initially received. Deborah Shelton seems very sweet in her interview segments.

Wasson commentary?

No commentary. No interview with him either.

I forgot to mention that Gregg Henry and Dennis Franz are interviewed, too.

That's cool that those two are interviewed. I can see why Wasson would be too busy to track down. Wait a minute, no I can't.

Then you clearly have no idea how much work it takes to be Wasson. That's a 26 hour-a-day, eight-days-a-week job. It's not for the faint-hearted.

The featurettes on the DVD come to about 45-50 minutes in total, by the way.

I picked up the first release with the ws/fs transfers for 5.99 minus the discount at Gamestop sometime in the spring, I caught this flick on tape back in 2003. I'm content with that release. No commentary? No sale. Although the Gregg Henry interview sounds cool. Gotta love the Frankie Goes To Hollywood "music video" midway through the film.

A commentary would've been awesome, but the featurettes cover a lot of different aspects of the movie. The interviews go back and forth from one person to the next and then back to the first person and so forth.
