Screw Dennis Green. Jim Mora doesn't measure up. Not even Lasorda's famous rant comes close. Maybe the Cubs manager's rant against his fans is the only one that can compare to this audio clip of Earl Weaver discussing his viewpoints prior to a game's telecast.

wow. i too question the validity of that.

but was cocksucker such a popular term 20 years ago?

Maybe its because i was 4, but I feel like it was a word still finding its way into the vernacular.

I don't even have to listen to it to tell you it's real. Dat's Da Earl O' Bawlmer Hun, our pride and joy. Man, I miss him skippering the birds, we used to win back then.

And he still made the best computer baseball game ever.

Well, he lent his name to it. Honestly I don't know if he's ever seen a computer....

Lemme tell ya something, when I was a kid a slight 30 years ago, my dad called every other person that pissed him off cocksucker. He was a tank commander in WWII, and the Korean War, and took no shit off anyone. My mom told me that his nose was so big because it was broken so many times. And he was a HUGE Earl Weaver and Orioles fan (he was from Maryland, right outside of Annapolis).

I've heard that on Stern before, and it's legit.

You damn skippy. What a great freakin' game. I wonder if I can find it out there as a ROM on the web somewhere...hmmmm....

I used to love the classic teams you could create of baseball legends, how it stored stats, and when Earl would come out and throw a fit and get tossed.
