Mexican Coke better than American Coke

It's the white stuff alright, but from sugar cane!

I've tasted it as someone bought a case to work. Taste better, makes american coke tatse like Pepsi.

Be sure to brush your teeth though.

Is Mexican Coke the real thing?

I agree, it's the cane sugar instead of corn syrup. Makes a difference in Pepsi also. It's really good stuff.

Without a doubt! There's a little mexican joint down the street from my work that sells the glass bottles. Half the reason we go there is for the better tasting Coke.

Just be careful around kids; there's lead in the paint on those bottles.

No Kidding, not that I planned on scraping the paint on the bottle and eating the shavings but that's still good information to have on hand.

Any of you fellas ever tried Ukrainian Mr. Pibb? That'll put some hair on your chest, and palms.

Every spring, for Orthodox Jews observant of strict passover guidelines, Coke releases bottles of 2 litres in the United States that are made with sugar cane instead of Corn Syrup (which isnt kosher for passover). You have to be in the know, and theyre in limited supply, but around April or so each year, you can find bottles at most supermarkets with a yellow cap with a little 'P' stamped on it.
Enjoy the flavour, gentlemen.

There's one local grocery store chain that continually fucks this up. They've got a bunch of those bottles in a display that says Mexican Coke in the ethnic foods section, but if you look at the ingredients on them, they're all listed as having corn syrup, not sugar. They've put out the same type for Passover (we checked the ingredients), and I'd be surprised if they didn't get complaints from observant Jews.

We've been on the lookout for sugar-based Coke locally since having it in Ireland a few years ago (I believe the corn syrup stuff is pretty much confined to the U.S. and other places where corn is in insane abundance; everyone else gets the good stuff). That Coca-Cola rep in the article is full of shit - cane sugar-based Coke makes for a noticeably superior mixed drink.

As I stated, the indicator for the difference for Passover is on the cap. The label around the bottle and ingredients list never changes, but the difference is still there.

Pretty sure I've never had the Coke without corn syrup. It's sad, I know.

So, by that logic, the stuff that's labeled Mexican Coke might also be cane sugar-based, but the ingredients label just wasn't changed? I might have to look into this.

How's the Mexican Diet Coke? Is it made with splenda cane?

I used to drink Coke when I lived in England and China and it always tasted different. I always thought they just used a sweeter formula abroad than they did here.

Of course Coke has no chance of competing with the awesomeness of Feichang Kele (Future Cola) in China.

Yup, the euro coke I've had has been better tasting as well. Even the Mcdonalds taste better.

It's better, especially when it's in the bottle. There's a place in Los Angeles that I always go to when I'm in town to get a crate of the stuff. Love it.

Sugar makes a huge difference. When I was on vacation I'd drink a litre a day. Shame it's so difficult to find here.

Canadian Coke is also made with cane sugar.

When my sister was at MIT, she would haul cases of the stuff back across the border for her roommates.

Part of my family owns a small mom and pop store in Mexico so whenever I head down I splurge on all the snacks and sodas.

From my experience you can't find Diet Coke in glass bottles. They'll only have the 20oz plastic bottles, so I imagine it'd be the same as the American version.

Even Fanta and many other various types of citrus drinks, Mexicans love citrus drinks, seem to have more kick and flavor than American ones.

Plus, once you're done drinking it you can have a nice broken bottle fight.

I tried that once when I was 15 in a bar in Tijuana. I had yet to find out that Hollywood uses special breakaway glass to get that effect. Fun times.

I love drinking Coke when I'm south of the border. The use of sugar cane really gives it a kick, and coming back to the states it feels like I'm drinking caffeine free Coke out here.

I've never had Coke made with cane sugar but I've always wanted to know why McDonalds' Coke seems to taste so much better than any other. I hate eating there but will go there just for a Coke. Are they putting crack in their Coke or what?

For most fast food chains, it all depends on how much fucking ice they jam into your cup, and how balanced the syrup/carbonated water levels are. I agree that McDonalds has better tasting Coke than say, Carl's Jr.

I love fountain cola soda's they taste much better than in the can or bottle.
