Watch a clip here

I don't know what's worse: the performance or that the blogger thinks Dylan is dead.

Movin' Out worked, but barely. Tharp's concept behind this is pretty damn ridiculous, makes no sense, and doesn't even try for thematic coherency with the Dylan songs.

As for that clip, what the fuck? I'm not even going to bother criticizing that, since it's obvious that Tharp has so COMPLETELY missed the point behind that song, and if she hasn't, the actor didn't get the memo.

If Broadway in-fucking-sists on continuing these jukebox musicals, I'd like to see one or two where the characters come from the songs and not one where the characters are created to fit the songs.

It's important to view stuff like this in the proper context. Myself, I think the entire show should be framed by commentary like this.

that made me vomit in terror.

i think the only thing scarier than a musical 'interpretation' of 'Like a Rolling Stone' that features dog people and pilates balls is seeing Rosie O'Donnell and a gargoyle before it starts.

Wait, that's not a gargoyle?

That's a person?

Holy fucking shit. Who opened the portal to hell?
