I thought maybe this would be a better place to post rather than the budding filmmaker section.
I am doing a film short from a script a friend wrote about two years ago. The story calls for nude scenes by both male and female. My question is this. Is there an easy way to approach strangers to do a nude scene in a film short without sounding like a creep? We need to start shooting this by late January early February. Of course, it would be nice to get real actors or students but I am not that picky. I tried this with some friends over the summer. BIG MISTAKE! They were all gung ho about it til the day came where they had to appear nude.
My film partner has seen people around town and has thought about approaching them and asking them if they'd like to make some extra cash and do a film short and then gradually work the nudity into it. In my opinion, this does not sound like the way to go. I could be wrong. Even though I am sure its not uncommon to ask students to work for free, I feel more comfortable paying my actors. Even if its $10 a day with donuts and coffee. I would like to say I paide all my cast and production crew somehting.
I also have release forms that I got from a photography website. This is something I would ned to do is for them to sign and give their consent. I also need to make copies of their drivers license or have some proof of their age for my records.
I would like to post a website or go to a forum and get some actors to come audition. I am sure I am making this more difficult than it needs to be,but I need to make my actors comfortable and I need for them to learn to trust me. Thats not easy. If anyone has any ideas, pointers, advice, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST.
