Chaos

Has anyone seen the serial killer film 'Chaos'. Kevin Gage, (Waingro in Heat), is the killer, and apparently was very good in it. Ebert liked it.

(NOT the Statham Snipes starrer)

I've seen it. A poor man's version of "Last House on the Left". A couple of fairly graphic ultra-violence scenes (and who doesn't love those), but the horrible acting and rapid ending (did they run out of money?) made it not worth anyone's time.

From watching the behind the scenes extras, It's director, Dave DeFalco, is some steroid freak bodybuilder, wrestler, who apparently really wishes he was Rob Zombie.

And Ebert apparently hated this film because of the violence disguised as a cautionary tale. Ebert's a complete wuss on that subject, but that still didn't make this a good film.

Forgot to note that Sage Stallone is in this, and apparently does not like his father's work out routines at all.

thanks - you're right. Ebert hated it but thought Gage was good.

Gage was a bit over the top for my taste, but was indeed the best part of the film.

I mentioned it before on these boards, but the AICN review really nails it. Two regulars reviewed it, but the negative one is great reading.

That's Vern, and he's amazing.

This movie is garbage. Complete ripoff of Last House on the Left- I mean, every little part of that movie is here.

I ended up fastforwarding through most of it, pointing out the parts they took from Last House. It's pretty shameless, really. They even ripped off the posters for this one.

Back in the behind the scenes, apparently this was supposed to be a remake of "Last House on the Left", but "somone" decided it was "different" enough to be a new film. My guess is that "someone" was a lawyer for Wes Craven looking for a percentage of the films profit.

I figured something like that. I was just disgusted by how much is taken from it- the two girls looking for weed, the nerdy son of the killer (least he didn't ribbit in this one), the slutty girl, the revenge of the parents at the end. Although they made the ending ridiculous. But it's like the Omen remake- same shit happens, just with different people.

I'm not the one to review this though because I can't put the fact that it's a complete rip of Last House aside from any possible merits of the film - so I sent it along to one of my contributers.
