Wasn't this story already (exaggeratedly) told in "Das Experiment"?

Sounds good, I've never heard a full version of the story, I'll have to read up on it before his take comes to fruition, if it does.

I really like Chris McQuarrie's work, I thought Way of the Gun was pure brilliance, and everyone says that statement about The Usual Suspects. I liked it, but upon a second viewing, it's not as great. Still has some of the most memorable characters in the past 15 years or so, but I thought Way of the Gun was much too hated in comparison.
