I didn't really dig the original- but you know- I'd pay to see Mick torture some more city folk.

Really not interested in seeing Mick become just another horror supervillain. A sequel would honestly diminish the original. I really dug the realism of the first film, and a sequel just doesn't seem liek the type of thing that would have a whole lot of new content.

I was in judicious Fast-Forward mode for the first half of the original, as horror films suffer with excessive character build-up with no real payoff. To be honest, the "Head on a Stick" scene was the only standout moment in the original thanks to it's sheer brutality. A sequel could be worthwhile if it jumps straight into demented action and runs with it.

I actually had nightmares from the "head on a stick", and I think the thing that makes that scene even worse is the fact that he's doing god knows what to that poor girl for basically as long as he wants and theres nothing she can do. She just has to take it. That is cruel, and hellish on levels I didnt think were possible.

I thought the sorely-unused awesome crater location was a missed opportunity.

Great movie that doesn't need a sequel.

Wasn't this based on a true story? Way to really sensationalize it further that it ever needed to be.

Seriously though, it was only an okay film to begin with. A sequel is, in no way, needed. Fuck Mick. I'd really rather have one stand out horror film than any franchise of wisecracking horror "icons."

They might as well just start filming every horror film as three movies at the same time. They all get at least two sequels now, no matter what.

Not to be a broken record, but I think it was more of a "true story".

Precisely what is at risk by making a sequel. The only sequel I would watch would be based on Bradley John Murdoch breaking loose and murdering more kids.

It was a slow build, and yes it paid off -but the characterisation was a little overcooked considering the talents of the actors involved. The main strength is the helpless nature of it all. The gritty real story is made harder by having such a likeable and watchable performance from John Jarratt and have him continue this performance with some unbelievable acts of torture.

Has anyone seen Rogue yet?
