It sounds like that "family friendly" audio track is just on the Canadian R1 disc. I was sort of hoping they'd use the cover with the film's title spelled out in a vein but this cover seems to continue the trend to make DVD covers seem as action-oriented as possible. At least this time it's not as absurd as the covers for HISTORY OF VIOLENCE or THE MATADOR.

| Lionsgate in the United States and Maple Pictures in Canada have announced the upcoming release of Crank for 9th January 2007. Crank stars Jason Statham and Amy Smart, and tells the tale of an assassin injected with an adrenaline inhibited poison. The DVD will feature a 'Crankâd Out Mode' offering a running commentary, behind-the-scenes footage, making-of insights, interviews and more - all whilst watching the film. Audio tracks will support Dolby Digital 2.0 and 5.1, with subtitles in English and Spanish. Maple also mentioned a family-friendly audio track lacking those all important expletives. Two editions will be available (widescreen/full screen), the widescreen covers from both distributors are provided below. |
