Am I the only one who thought Royale sucked? Hey, Ricardo Montalban, stop whispering to the accountant how much Bond has bet in the 40 minute poker scene--she knows how to count! She's an accountant!
Also, the "twist" at the end that we all see coming a mile away?--Yeah, why did it take that long to get to it. Why do we spend the whole beginning watching Bond figure out how to scale a building using his brain over dexterity unless we're supposed to take away from that the fact that he's super smart, only to conclude that he's a moron by the end. A moron who can't see the "big twist."
I liked the 60's feel of the thing and I kind of like that he's a Frankenstein monster/sociopath that, one assumes, M turns into a suave man of one-liners. But for all the glowing reviews saying that this isn't just a great Bond flick but a great movie as well...ARE MOVIE REVIEWERS HIGH?
It's the same old shit. Plus 40 minutes of gambling.
Anyone else disappointed?
