Don't let the fear control you, Slater. Just ask yourself: what would Marcus Fenix do?

Swear and make Dom do it.
I gotta stop reading these Wii threads...I've purchased a 2 gig SD card for $40 (CDN) in anticipation of the next shipment.

is this supposed to be a constant connection on the wifi connector? or is it only connected when its downloading or sending messages?

Has anybody purchased Wii Points over the Wii shop using a credit card? I've tried for the last 3 days and it keeps saying my information is incorrect, even though I have my credit card right in front of me.
>Dom's a tard.

I only say that cause when I play co op with my bud, I'm always Dom, and I always do the heavy lifting. Speaking of which, wanna Co-op some Gears Mali?

Mine worked fine- although the first time I entered in all my info, all my address stuff, and then clicked no like a tard.

Am I the only one with a shitty selection, and only one N64 game? Where's the Mario Karts, and the Link to the pasts? When can I get them?

They'll be adding new Virtual Console games every Monday...probably 2 or 3 at a time.

Will have around 30 by the end of the year.

Hazarding a guess here, make sure you're not entering your country in the "county" field.

Straight Edge- sorry man, got confused.

Bonk still rules, btw.
So this problem won't affect your game saves nor your Mii?

Btw, my wife's brother & sister just came by tonight to have dinner, and we had 4-player tennis games and bowling games. Lemme tell you, it was more fun than I realized. At the end of the night, my arm was quite sore and I worked up a sweat, but it was most fun I had with a console game. If only I can get another nuk-chuk so we can play 1-vs-1 boxing matches, it'd be golden.
Well it will affect your game saves if you can't transfer them- otherwise it just seems like it's only affecting your ability to update the firmware.

God damn it. Wii Play is coming packed with a remote after all- in January.

Can't believe that Wii Play is available in most places, except N. America. At least it's coming out in January, but I already brought 3 more Wii remotes so I'll be having an extra one. Maybe I'll save it for a rainy day...

Still doesn't seemed fair that we'd have to wait another month, though.

The "Explosive Patient" surgery in Second Opinion has been completely reworked to take advantage of all the tricks the remote can do. It is fantastic.

And hooray for finally getting a Wii Play announcement! It's about time.

Got Call of Duty 3 in the mail from Gamefly today- can't wait to check it out. Did anyone pick this up?

HAHA...

At first that's what I did. Then I realized it said county, so I put in the county I live in, and still no go. Guess I'll have to go buy a point card. Damn, I only wanted 1000 points too...

All the laughing I did at the people saying "But playing with that controller is going to make you tired. what a stupid gimmick." is coming back to bite me in the ass. I'm going to strain or dislocate something with Wii Sports before I'm done with it.

Also, do I suck or is it really hard to get a gold medal in any of the training events?

I did. Of course, I don't have a system yet. I'm hoping for Friday.

No, but I got a game pass from Blockbuster and I'll rent this one to see if Wii remote + nukchuk will make FPS shooters fun on the console. I've always hated using gamepad controller to play FPS, preferred instead to use my mouse & KB to play such games as Half-Life 2 and Battlefield 2. If it works out, I'll definitely get Metroid 3: Corruption when it is released.
Gravedigger, I haven't been able to get a gold medal yet in any of the events either although I think I may have been close in one of the bowling ones.
Has anyone played the Dragonball Z game. A couple guys at work said it was a blast and I have one for the PS2 that is pretty fun I just wonder how it works with the remote.

I'm not getting wireless until the end of next month. I almost don't want to play any more Trauma Center (or Zelda when I get it later this week) until after I do the update just in case this happens to me.
SD card I just bought can be copied to, so with that, it's time to dive headfirst into Zelda.
Got Gold in Bowling training (2nd part) when I got a strike on the last 100+ pin. I fell over sideways cause I was throwing my leg so much that I ended up kneeling. Also, getting the timing with Baseball down; a straight, sword-like swing gets me a homer every time it connects (gets a very nice rainbow... 700+ ft was my record).

Tennis seems to be the trickiest one given that it seems so simple. It's really neat how much you can do with it just with timing. Getting ace serves 1/2 the time. My weakness seems to be the lob shots (and is it me are does the AI actually learns and exploits your weaknesses?).

So... Is Wii Sports online, or is all of this Wii numbers stuff just for Mii Parades and Mii visits?

Wii will not get online gaming until next year (unless you're Japan, where they get it for the Pokemon game in Dec).

So, yes, the number exchanging is all for Mii.
question for anyone using the nintendo wi-fi usb adapter. When i first set up my Wii wireless connection, the name i had given my wii appeared in the blue connection window. Now my console's name no longer appears, just some black bars in its place.
I have a gold in the golf one where you have to have your ball land in the target. I play that one all the time, though.
So did anyone's batteries die, or is it just me who's been playing this thing for far too much?

I picked up rechargeable AA's- because I just realized how much I'm going to go through these things. I just didn't expect it to happen so soon.

Call of Duty 3 has taken me away from Zelda- not an easy feat. It's fun, but not as good as the 2 games (2, and Big Red One.) No multiplayer is bullshit. But this gives me so much faith for FPSers on Wii- because the controls are pretty damn amazing once you get used to them. I'm bangin' out headshots like it was nothing.
Already been through 2 sets of batteries. This thing is getting a lot of use.
Went to EB this morning, and managed to buy Wii nun-chuk that they stocked for Black Friday (they only got two, for some reason). Now I'm as happy as a jaybird, and can't wait to try the 2-player boxing for Wii Sports, as well as Budokai 2.

For people who still need a memory card, Best Buy has a 1 gig SD card for 14.99 today and tomorrow. The two gig model is thirty bucks. The prices are even lower at Circuit City, but they were sold out by the time I got there today.

Still, fifteen bucks beats the hell out of sixty bucks.
The best deal is going down at Amazon (via CompUSA) where they have SanDisk SDSDH-2048-901 2 GB Ultra II Secure Digital Memory Cards (which usually retail for 200 bucks) for a mere $40. These are pretty much the best SD Cards you can buy, so if you're going to be using one for more than just your Wii, get this.

I wish I didn't buy the 1 gig SD card for Wii when I brought my console. Maybe I'll go to Best Buy anyway and pick up the 2 gig one.
Yeah I hit radioshack and got myself a 1 gig SD for $15. More happy that I took 4 of the 24 bluetooth headsets.
You guys think this would be a smart purchase? I don't have a camera that uses SD cards- so I'd like to be able to grab stuff from my computer to use for it. Not sure about how good the price/quality of it is though.
It's a pretty damn good card.
Well, after some shopping around today I am now convinced that the Wii doesn't actually exist; it's just a big joke being played on me by the Internets.

Fuck you Internets.
This console is super fun, it was the highlight of the thanksgiving festivities. The whole fam got involved, including one of the grandma's. And my older brother who hasn't played a system since the first NES got into it no problem, so did the 'rents. Tennis was the highlight, with bowling a very close second. Awesome fun, great console, and Zelda is blowing me away as we speak. Best 250 bucks i've spent all year. F' Sony.

I noticed mine just started doing that today. Hmm.

Hey, just figured out- when the console's flashing blue- it means you have a message.

Also- this is a cool little Wii Sports trick.

So- beat Call of Duty 3. It's good, but nothing you'd want to play through again.... definitely worth a rental, though.

Got a chance to play Twilight Princess (for about one minute), Wii sports bowling (for about one minute), and Excite Truck (about five minutes) today.

The game that I thought would have been the most unnatural, Wii bowling, handled the best . I could not do shit with Excite Truck. The "steering" wheel concept just didn't work for me. It just sucked. TP was interesting. It didn't feel unnatural, just imprecise. Again, could have just been new user syndrome.

I was stunned, stunned, stunned by how small the Wiimote felt in my hand. Pretty interesting stuff. I wish I'd had a chance to play COD3 or Red Steel.

Hey, if you're getting a Wii for Christmas, here's a tip before returning your broken Wii the next day--turn off the Christmas lights! I brought the Wii home for Thanksgiving and the string of tiny, bright Christmas lights on the railing behind our TV are apparently the exact kind of lights that screw with the remote.

If anyone needs a copy of Zelda, I have a spare. If you're in the US, I'll ship it to you for $50 vis USPS Priority. Send me a PM if interested. It's brand new, unopened, etc.
I managed to get one at Toys R Us this past saturday. It is the goodness.
Back from my honeymoon, I ran over to Gamestop and picked mine up (which they held for me) this past weekend.

I love Wii Bowling (avg between 173-180). Of course Baseball has ruined my back.

Has anyone tried that glitch in the second bowling training level that lets you knock all 91 pins over by riding the gutter blocker? I can't get it to work. I always fall off the barrier or just run into it.
You knew it was coming:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6162355...stnews;title;0

Perrin Kaplan is my new favorite marketing executive. She is also the only one I know by name, but other than whoever invented Budweiser's "Leon" she's my all-time favorite.

If anything, I found the wiimote too light. I needed some more heft for ExciteTruck.

It takes a while, but you can do it. It only works on that pin- what you have to do it turn a few clicks (2 or 3) to the right and chuck it at the last second. It took us a while to do it, but it's really sweet when you get it.

Wii: Over 600,000 Served

With roughly 450,000 copies of Zelda to boot, meaning a 75% attach rate.

Nice.

Here's the latest videos of Far Cry Wii

I remain skeptical. It looks better than those godawful early builds, but this just doesn't look finished. Too bad Red Steel apparently is unplayable, cuz' it's the best looking of these early FPS titles.

Some people are saying that Red Steel takes a long time to get used to and is very good once you've got the hang of it, but I'm about two hours in and sure as hell haven't reached "playable" yet.
