Not an awful list...

http://www.vh1.com/movies/news/artic...06/story.jhtml

10. "Somewhere in Time" (1980)
9. "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" (1988)
8. "The Final Countdown" (1980)
7. "Army of Darkness" (1992)
6. "Planet of the Apes" (1968)
5. "12 Monkeys" (1995)
4. "The Time Machine" (1960)
3. "Back to the Future" trilogy (1985-1990)
2. "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" (1986)
1. "Time After Time" (1979)
Yeah, because there are sooooo many to choose from.
Where's The Terminator? They could have at least put it as a tie with 12 Monkeys. Glad to see Back to the Future in there - part two is really cool sci-fi and the other two are great entertainment. Haven't seen Time After Time - is it any cop?
Time After Time is a blast. It's basically got Jack the Ripper travelling forward in time to the seventies to continue his murder streak...
Yeah, it's not the most bountiful of subgenres. Can we even come up with ten more?

There's...

The Terminators
Star Trek: First Contact (which I would assume is better than Voyage Home, but I'm not really much of a Star Trek guy. Maybe Star Trek can even offer a few more to this list).
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (waaaay better than the first, even if less about time travel than about a Jesus-like resurrection)

But really, film series should be clumped together. So Star Trek and Bill & Ted are already accounted for, as are the Planet of the Apes sequels. Remakes clump as well, so no need to mention The Shitty Time Machine 2002.

And sackley, I have no idea whether or not Time After Time is any cop. Not a damn clue. But it is a pretty cool movie.

Primer would make that list more interesting and diverse.

Edit: There's also a very popular time-travel slapstick comedy in Russia called "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Occupation", but I wouldn't put it in the list as most of the humor is extremely dated now.

Depending on how you define time travel, there's a lot of films:

Donnie Darko
Groundhog Day
Buck Rogers
Butterfly Effect
A Connecticut Yankee
Time Bandits (a shocking omission)
Returner
Trancers
Kate & Leopold
Timecop (another shocking omission)
Etc.
Shit, how could I forget Primer? Yeah, absolutely, put that one right up near the top.

Another to add: Masters of the Universe. "Gwildor, send us back before..."

Also (ugh): Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3.

Oh yeah, and Time Bandits, too.
Time Cop and Time Cop 2. The best time traveling movies ever.

Also, for some reason I love The Returner.

I'll take that challenge & I won't mention any that were previously (I think)...

A Sound of Thunder
Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time
Just Visiting
The Jacket
Lost in Space
The Fountain (maybe?... haven't seen it)
Click (arguably)
Pleasantville (sorta, not really)
Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
Timeline
Clockstoppers
Austin Powers (well... frozen in time)
Black Knight
Flight of the Navigator
Freejack
The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones
Meet the Robinsons
We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story
Frequency (communication through time)
Journey to the Center of Time
The Lake House (communication through time)
Peggy Sue Got Married
The Triangle
The Philadelphia Experiment
Saint Sinner
Time Barbarians
Waxwork
Rankin/Bass: Willy McBean and His Magic Machine & Rudolph's Shiny New Year

TV Shows:
The Time Tunnel, Quantum Leap, Heroes, Daybreak, Futurama, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Andromeda, Farscape, Stargate, TZ & Outer Limits eps

Honorable mention: the end of Donner's Superman: the Movie

Shit, here's a site with a more extensive list: http://www.aetherco.com/timelinks/ti...hebiglist.html

Sackley, I may be misunderstanding your question, but the person chasing Jack the Ripper in Time After Time is H.G. Wells. It really is an interesting flick.

What the fuck? Where is The Unidentified Flying Oddball?

Other than that, I can live with the list.
I would add The Butterfly Effect. My favorite Star Trek: The Next Generation is Yesterday's Enterprise. From the original series, City of the Edge of Forever and from Deep Space 9, "Trials and Tribbleations."

Someone could probably argue Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind onto the list, but alas, 'tis not me. I've got vegetables to dice.

Fucking A Right. That's a great flick just for the fact that Fred has no idea he's travelled through time the entire film.

And Cheryl Ladd's tits will do.

Stark Trek IV is not the 2nd best time-travel movie. I can't live in a world where that's considered to be true.

I'm disappointed/disturbed that someone (Darkmites...you sad bastard) beat me to Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time.
Primer really is the tops when it comes to this, I think. Closely followed by 12 Monkeys.

A great flick, but not a time travel movie. It deals with something slightly deeper. Fate and whatnot.

Poor choice, I realize. I was just trying to think of a time travel movie that no one had come up with yet and this is the best I do, what with the wonky timeline and all.
What's that movie with the time traveling little dwarf peoples...it's really comedic...I kept wanting it to call it The Goonies which is OBVIOUSLY wrong...

blah...

anybody?
TIME BANDITS. A Gilliam classic.
Yeah, ok...and that one's already on the list.

So yeah...that one.
