Family Friendly Night of the Living Dead?

This man should be gangraped. On principle.

I can't believe that's real.

This can't honestly appeal to anyone.

HONESTLY! People who want "family friendly" programming either A) wouldn't watch Night of the Living Dead anyway, or B) they're aware that the film is "tamer" (gore-wise) than the garbage being released theatrically these days!

And the part about the colorization? Inserting scenes of a space probe? All of it. I mean... this is worthy of the sort of hyperbolic hate Schumacher and Bay inspire.

Hell, Night of the Living Dead has always been a family friendly film in my household. It was one of the first horror movies my stepson sat all the way through. Also the family had a little trip for an all night Romero fest with him in attendance. Romero is like a friend of the family.

I know that you can say "So what, it's not like the version you love will dissappear from the face of the planet forever", but come on, this is an abomination!

I think it wouldn't have bothered me as much if it were on Youtube or something, but the guy's charging 2.50 a download. Sure, it's cheap- but if he was a true fan he wouldn't be doing that at all.

I want to set his face on fire and put it out with an axe.

So it's basically the version they cut for the Sci-Fi Channel?

Sci Fi tends to be pretty good about leaving blood/gore in, and I've seen NotLD on A&E and not much was cut out. It just annoyes me, that people fuck with this movie.

BLASPHEMY! This was one film where the gore actually served a PURPOSE (not that there's anything wrong w/ senseless gore, mind you). You cut it off at the knees by cutting it out. Some things just aren't meant for the "family", like 9% alcohol beer, cigars and NotLD. Accept it!

Good for you. My dad introduced this movie one night to me as a kid, maybe around ten years old, and was proud to have me watch such a classic horror movie. He knew that even though I was a weird little monster and horror loving goof, this movie would scrae the shit out of me and it did, but that was a good thing. It didn't scar me for life. It didn't warp me. I didn't end up in jail or on skid row. It just reshaped the way I appreciated horror movies and movies in general for the rest of my life. It's one of my fondest childhood memories of me and my Dad. If you want a "family friendly" movie night, try one that involves respecting your kid.

Meh. It won't replace the original version, unlike SOME Star Wars trilogies I know!

Anyway, I've lost the ability to be indignant over this movie since John Russo ass-raped it in 1998 with the 30th Anniversary Edition. Calm down, guys.

Agreed on all counts. My mom and dad rented the first three movies for me when I was in 5th or 6th grade.

Poor public domain NotLD... http://www.ghoulstock.com/notld/

I agree with everyone who says it already is a family film. My Dad showed me NOTLD when I was 11 or 12. It shook my world to the core, and is still one of my all-time favorites.

This reminds me of some ass on a "Living Dead" message board I used to frequent. He did this same thing for his nephew, and had plans to edit Dawn and Day as well. When I read that(and all the support he was getting from other posters) I quit the site entirely.

To edit these films is near blasphemy.

This and the goddamned Evil Dead musical may make me hate that particular genre for the rest of time.

If they want a family movie with zombies, give them this:

Only the zombies don't, you know, munch on meat and stuff.

Difference is that Evil Dead: The Musical had some kind of support from at least campbell and probably Raimi behind it.

So did the Spidey films. At this point I merge with the darkness...

The trailer featured none of the music from the musical. Unless the music in the film is shit-metal. Enjoyed the Kevin Smith-esque tactic of calling themselves "assholes". Cunts.
