Grandma's Boy

Thread Starter
That's right, a thread about Grandma's Boy, that disappeared in a flash, low rent comedy from the Adam Sandler shit factory starring his buddies.

I can't believe I liked this movie, but it made me laugh. And I wasn't even stoned at the time. I don't ask for a whole hell of a lot in modern comedies, just to make me laugh, as it seems that most of them have a hard enough time doing that.

I would talk about plot, but there really isn't anything resembling one until the last ten minutes, and it doesn't really matter with a movie like this. There has to be somebody out there just as retarded as I am who liked this movie as well.

Probably not.

There are worse movies out there. The Monkey stuff was funny.

I have to say that I really liked this movie when I caught it on dvd. It has a lot of really funny moments in it, from the monkey stuff to the deer antlers, to Allen Covert's "I forgot something" joke. I think it's destined for cult status. I already overhear people talking about it at the college that I attend, and my friends really like it too. I guess it was just filled with too many video game references for the general public.

This was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. It was like those old school funny movies like Mallrats and Jerky Boys.

This was fucking awful. I kind of like Allen Covert, but he had nothing to work with.

GRANDMA'S BOY goes down as the only movie I've ever seen that doesn't have a plot. There just isn't a story, a central problem that the movie hinges on. Try to find one. I dare you. Although I did laugh at the "How much do clothes cost in the Matrix?" line.

Also, the fucking party scene goes on about fifteen minutes too long.

"My name is J.P. I am a robot. I have a robot vagina."

A complete disregard for any kind of realism when depicting video game development. The ideas that testers fix the game or that a single person creates assets by merely typing at the keyboard is ludicrous. I did laugh at the "Tomb-Raider doll bathroom ejaculation on Mom" scene, however.

"Dude, jerking off on my mom is one thing. But banging your grandmother and her roommates? That's like... legendary."

A dumb flick, but I have to say that I totally have a Linda Cardellini crush. And yes, I just quoted a movie I didn't like very much... twice.

A kind of dumb movie with some funny scenes. This being a great one.

I love this post. It reveals so much about the poster and the movie, in so few words. I don't happen to share the same viewpoint, but c'est la vie.

I can't actually be sure I laughed while watching, but the idea of that scene makes me chuckle in hindsight.
"I CAN'T STOP! IT FEELS SO GOOD!"

And did I mention my love for Miss LC and her mike-handling prowess?

Freaks and Geeks 4-Evah! I suck...

Yeah, this movie was stupid and nonsensical and starred not even past-their-prime SNLers, but the friends of past-their-prime SNLers. It was still pretty damn funny.

Expectations are powerful things, even (especially, in this case) when they're non-existent.
