NECA Cult Classics Series 5

I picked up the new Hannibal Lecter, V, and Medieval Ash today at Hastings.

Damn are they sweet. The face detail on Ash is jaw-dropping. McFarlane ain't got shit on NECA. Although Anthony Hopkins once said he would never sign off on a figure of Dr. Lecter, they must have finally waved enough green in his face, because this thing is spot on. V looks pretty good as well, he has a removable hat and knives. Very happy with these.

My only gripe, Ash's Necronomicon, and Hannibal's mask are behind the sticker on the bubble. Can't see them at all.

Then open your toys, man. They're suffocating!

One reason that McFarlane Toys is slipping...

is letting their Movie Maniacs line die. OF all the badass shit that I need to go to TRU to get, this is number one. I can not believe that they would let it go even though they said that they had all been done and it was too expensive to continue. They had all been done? Not until V is sitting on my shelf warning all those conservative ladies that they best get with the trend and drop those panties so that the revolution may rise...will they all be done.

Why did they make another Leatherface? I love the one I got so it's odd to see another one. Looks great though. They all do.

John McClane is considered a maniac?

Where is Dr. Pretorius from Re-Animator?

Dr. Loomis? Laurie Strode, Regan? The guys from Tremors? Jack fucking Burton?!

So many more to make.

I saw the McClane a couple of months back, but didn't pick him up. I just wasn't in the mood for collecting at the time. The Shaun is still on the shelf, and will probably pick him up, still waiting to see a Pinhead figure.

I did see a the NECA Eric Draven figure, but I like my Movies Maniacs version better.

My top ten wants:

1. Korben Dallas/w multi-pass.
2. Leeloo
3. Martin Riggs
4. John Constantine/w Holy shotgun.
5. Billy Bob from Bad Santa. Drunk, beard hanging off, this could be great.
6. John Preston from "Equiibrium"
7. Buckaroo Banzi
8. Tyler Durden
9. Van Helsing. The movie was lame, the character would still be a cool figure.
10. Tom Stall from "A History of Violence".

Isn't he part of the NECA Cult Classics line?

Regardless, I think it's more crazy fucking SHAFT was part of the Movie Maniacs line.

They made most of those, except Laurie and Regan. Tremors figures are licensed but not out yet. Jack Burton came out with a whole line of Big Trouble figures. Dr. Pretorious is from From Beyond. Re-Animator is on the way.

It was late when I wrote that.

I now remember the Jack Burton figs, duh.

We still need Dr. West and Pretorious.

I recall the Myers and Loomis set, they came together.

I would like a seperate figures of Quint, Brody and Hooper.

Those Big Trouble in Little China action figures were so lousy I wish NECA would get the license and at the least do a better and more Kurt Russell-like Jack Burton.

Yes, Kurt looks like Randy Quaid with down's syndrome.
