I'm ticked at the game because I had to play as Adrien Brody for three-plus hours before I got to actually play as King Kong, only to find that playing as Kong basically means "mash the buttons as furiously as you can!"

Just one question. Is there enough material in the deleted and extended scenes to assemble a 100-minute version matching the pacing and narrative of the original? I'm still pissed that the screen-test scene was only in the trailer.

The deleted (and alternate) bits are primarily there to show different versions of scenes or plot points that may be redundant or not work with how the script got tweaked finally on the fly. In some cases, there's a huge section of footage, where only bits and pieces were used in the final edit and in some cases for different purposes than was originally intended. With that said, the extended scenes included in the actual cut (specifically the dino stuff) play more like the original. You could definitely re-edit the whole thing with the footage available and resemble the 33 version. There's plenty to choose from.

To answer your question... maybe? Might be an interesting exercise actually.
