WKRP in Cincinnati finally coming out on DVD

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, in the upcoming DVD collection for the TV show "Stacked", there's a flyer announcing that WKRP will be out in April 2007.

There have been very few TV shows that I have had an inclination to own, but this will be one of them. Mainly because you can never find re-runs anywhere.

"BOOGER!!!!!"

Hell yes. Now I can stop DVD copies from tapes.

I'd set a flamingo on fire for a Frank Bonner commentary.

"As God as my witness, I always thought that turkeys could fly."

Great news. WKRP is one of my favorite shows ever.

edit: looks like they're re-doing the music.

Standard practice with TV shows, unfortunately. I've been watching a few SNL best-of DVDs lately and have issues with the same thing; a lot of sketches have had the songs in them replaced by generic session-musician soundalikes.

This show is the reason why I still buy all my clothes at a pro shop in Kentucky.

This is cool news.

They had to redo the music due to the legal issues with the music. From what I read, the rights were in a mess and could not be worked out. Cost prohibitive to pay for the use of the songs or some shit.

Don't care since it's all about The Big Guy aka, Dudley fucker.

From TVShowsOnDVD.com:

The studio has been working on the set for quite awhile, spending most of their time looking at the songs used in the series. As you've probably guessed, there will be music substitutions when the set comes out, but the studio has been spending a lot of time with a music supervisor to ensure that the replaced songs fit the show. Hugh Wilson, creator of the series, has heard some of the replaced music and thought Fox did a good job.

I agree it is unfortunate, but I blame the music companies for asking outrageous fees for music use rather then the companies putting out the DVDs.

Is anybody gonna pick this up tomorrow? I think I might bite the bullet, even with all the music changes.
I picked it up.....Been waiting for this for some time now.

So far i'm enjoying it......Even with the music changes.

I've read that not only did they change the music, they also edited out scenes where they couldn't substitute stuff. No thanks.
