Was the O-Ren origin sequence rotoscoped? My gut says yes, but I thought I'd put it to the Chewers to see if anyone knows for sure.

I'm fairly sure it wasn't.

i agree, i don't think it's not either

nope.

nah, no way. If not, then they worked a whole lot of hours on the thing.
I also heard rumors that the guy who kills o-ren's dad is bill! But then again, it might not be bill. oh, and by the way, has anyone heard any news on the kill bill SE DVD's?

It doesn't look rotoscoped to me - the action is too jerky and stylized.

According to Wikipedia, it "uses a combination of rotoscoping and traditional animation." I can't seem to find another source for that claim, though.

Some of the more complex camera movements might have been rotoscoped because it would be a lot easier to animate handheld camera shots for example, than it would be create it all from an animator's head.

I think they make it clear in the film that is definitely is not Bill.

Thats why i said it might not be. It wouldn't make any sense that o-ren was in bill's team if he killed her family, plus its clear that he is not. I got into a discussion on imdb over this and i needed a second opinion. to the earlier question, it is possible that they rotoscoped handheld camera movement, but either way they worked alot on this. the blood spray falling on o-re dad's bodyitself must have been complex.

Didn't they have the same ring or something? I think it'd be more interesting if that was Bill.

I remember reading an interview with Tarantino where he confirmed that the guy is Bill.
