Good stuff and welcome to the boards.

I only have to ask why you chose to make posters for sequels?

Easier to copy and paste existing art/posters from the previous movies?

i dunno why.I just love sequels and anticipate them coming out, therefore I make posters for films that i anticipate the most or would love to be made. and more posters are coming soon.
I guess that's cool ... your textures are a little too large/obvious for some of those posters. They practically scream 'Photoshop'.

Also, I don't understand why Wolverine would be surrounded by clouds?

The Matrix one is pretty good. Nice tag-line etc. though. I can't imagine how bad that movie would be but whatever.

Thoughts?

Saw posters seem to be a big fan of having body parts on them. perhaps two overlaid sawed off arms (one with the elbow bent) for the 4. That would be sweet.

Well, something else you might want to look at would be you fonts. There is something about them in all your posters that really make them stick out to me for some reason. Maybe they're too sharp ... maybe choose a different anti-aliasing method like 'smooth' or 'strong' or something ...
Most of those taglines are too much even by hollywood standards.

to tell you the truth, poster 1 (the matrix 4) was made during the summer. So i am basically going in order from the first poster i made (back in May) to the most recent poster I made a few days ago.

I beleive there are improvements as each poster comes along. Some might be seen as step backs, as some I'm not to proud of, but others coming up, I really love.
there are more? bah ... too much work dude.
Nice work, myers - but the Wolverine one looks like it should be called "Touched by a Wolverine" or "All good Wolverines go to heaven."

The only one that seems like I might see it in a theater is the "Ring 3" poster, which is pretty good. The Matrix 4 one is decent. But the rest look like what they are, amateurish attempts.

You may also want to reach a little beyond sequels for your inspriation.

Not bad dude. I dig most of 'em except for Ocean's 13 (The heads are VERY obviously photoshopped and the poster isn't especially imaginative) and Wolverine (why the hell is there a giant V?) Other than that my only real suggestion is to try a bit more imagination. Most of these posters are pretty cool, but obvious in their executions (The Matrix especially).

EDIT: Also, it appears that in your fantasy, Wolverine is being helmed by Brett Ratner... Is this a typo?

This is quickly becoming a thread full of posters for films I never want to see.

im askin everyone to judge the posters not the films.
As someone who had their time with photoshop, they look alright.

I'd quickly though move into valid movie discussion quickly if you want to survive.

Did someone just take a Photoshop class or something?
Don't plan on a career in film marketing design, kid.
And are sequels the only damn films you care about?
This kid is like a SNL parody of a Internet fanboy.

Maybe the guy just really loves numbers.

But, Bad Boys III? Are you serious? Talk about scraping the barrel. After about 4 of these I could see this quickly ending up like a bizarro serious Something Awful thread.

I remember the ol' Photoshop threads of yore. Those were good times.

I demand a Ghostbusters 3 poster that is identical to the Ghostbusters 2 poster, only the ghost is holding up three fingers instead of two.

Any guesses which ones are still coming up? Nightmare On Elm Street 8? Spider-Man 4, X4, Final Destination 4, 28 Months Later, Halloween 9, Kill Bill Volume 3, Terminator 4, Alien 5, Austin Powers 4, Superman 6, Batman 6, Clerks III, Highlander VI, Rocky VII, Shrek 4, Bourne 4, I So Know What You Did Last Summer. Come on, it's gotta be one of those.
Most of these look fine, and some pretty good. I've seen plenty of way worse stuff used on actual DVDs(I'm not a big fan of the Ocean's 13 one either, and some of the fonts). This is great photoshop practice and all, but why not move on to spoof posters? At least then you're still getting better at what you enjoy to do, AND entertaining people.
Maybe.

These are fine work at blending and making things look somewhat professional but they're shit posters. Mostly because good posters create new imagery that will resonate with the viewer, not recycled floating heads that have gradients tampered with to fit in with a 'horror' or 'hip' color scheme. I think the idea of doing spoof posters is a great one, because it will make me want to kick in your face much less.

Absolutely not!

"Saving the world, one enemy at a time"??!!

Here's some constructive negative feedback. When you come up with a tagline, say it aloud a couple times, possibly in a mirror, and see if you feel embarrassed. If you don't feel ashamed after that try bouncing it off someone else and see what they think.
Now if you'd just started off with something directed by Michael Mann, we wouldn't be in this mess.
Ok, so the majority are amateur.

But I'll give him credit for two things. I'll probably get hell for this. As much as I never ever in my life want to see the making of a Scary Movie 5, I thought the tagline was pretty clever for it considering they're dumb films.

And it took me a second to notice the goddamn shark and it scared the fuck out of me. It could just be my natural phobia of sea creatures but goddamn it...it scared me when I glanced at it.

Whoa, I thought that was just the ocean floor until I got a good look at it.

These are no worse than some of the DTV covers I've seen.

Then again, being good enough for a DTV cover probably isn't something you should be aspiring to.
