Film Studies: Freudian sexual undertones

Class assignment:
Analysys of Cameron's T2:

*The use of leather to clad a machine masquerading as a machine has some obvious Freudian conotations about automated same-gendered toys.

*Linda Hamilton's method of pumping the shotgun has decided Freudian overtones.

*The T1000's tendancies to elongate parts of himself, then use them as weapons.

*The constant flight of woman and child from an oppressive male.

*The look on the T1000's face as he looks the cop over and comments, "Niiiice bike."

*The amazing use of powerful guns.

*The use of frigidity to halt the progress of the T1000.

Discuss.

[Editor's note: I'm not being literal. This is a parody of that one professor every film or lit school seems to have that ties Freud into all works, reading things into them the the creator never intended.]

Yeah, I have that same problem when I watch 'She Loves Them Titties', or 'Buff Chicks Munchin' the Rug'.

I don't know what it is about those films, but I just can't help but see some psycho-sexual overtones to them. Even their titles, viewed in the correct light, seem a little risque, don't you think?

We should do another thread of this in reverse...the good, solid, philosophical ramifications of porn plot (where applicable.)

"No, honey, I'm doing research for a paper, I swear...."

See, NOW you're on to something. Although it's pretty fun to flip through 300 channels of digital cable and try, with the help of neighbors, to make every shows name into a porn name by changing only one word or better, just a letter or two. We turned it into a drinking game.

"America Undercover"

"When Animals Attack"

Some things just don't need changing to sound dirty.
