Woohoo! Also does anyone know why you can't copy and paste from TVShowsonDVD.com?

Wow, the same day. I don't know if I'll cave in and get season 4. That's when things started to go a bit loopy.

Season 3 for sure. The guest stars are unreal. Off the top of my head I know there's Liam Neeson, Jeff Fahey (goodbye Ferrari!), Bill Paxton, Wesley Snipes, Don King, Lou Diamond Phillips, Viggo Mortensen, Annette Benning (those last 3 in the same episode), and the return of G. Gordon Liddy.

Plus season 3 has the one where Crockett and Tubbs take on a trio of crazy ass bikers played by Reb Brown, John Matuzak, and Sonny Landham.

This sounds great. I don't have the first 2 seasons yet, but they're pretty cheap online. Isn't season 4 the one where Sonny gets amnesia, and he thinks that he really is a drug dealer? Well anyway, it's great that they're releasing both seasons at once. Now all we need is season 5.

The amnesia angle starts at the end of season 4 and goes into the 5th season for a bit. The 4th season is also where Sonny marries Sheena Easton. On the plus side it does have the Yakuza-themed episode with James Hong, Cary Tagawa, and R. Lee Ermey as a crooked cop.

Artwork! And all the music will be intact.

I like how they just photoshopped out the old Ferrari and put the new one in.

Well these come out on Tuesday. $35 a piece at Target and $37 a piece at Best Buy, but Best Buy is running a deal where you can buy any two seasons of "Vice" for a total of $50. At that price the completist in me is saying to just go ahead and get season 4, no matter how uneven it is.

I picked up both sets a few days ago. Wow, did this series get dark. Every episode seems to end on a downer. And I'm only 6 episodes in. That's not to say I'm not enjoying it, but it is quite different than the first two seasons.

I'm interested in hearing what people think about season three. We need more Vice talk around here.

I've only been able to get through the first few episodes of season 3. The first one with Liam Neeson trying to blow up the Concord is great. I only have one small gripe. In that episode Jeff Fahey blows up Crockett's Ferrari. But then when they have the big shoot out it's Edward James Olmos who kills Fahey and Crockett ends up blowing away Paul Gleason. That didn't seem right to me. I wanted Crockett to ice Fahey.

What about that one where the jai alai player kills himself by getting hit by the ball? That one sure ended on a downer.

I'm tempted to skip directly to the one with Wesley Snipes and Bill Paxton but I'm gonna try to be patient and just let it come naturally.

I see the season 5 set has already been announced for the end of June. Pretty quick turnaround.

Whoever makes these covers sure is an artistic genius!

I still need to finish season 1 and 2. I'll eventually buy 3-5 but I'm in no rush. With the announcement that Battlestar Galactica 2.0 and 2.5 is getting released together my money is already spent.

Not much variation in the covers but when lined up spine-out they look real nice together. Sort of the opposite of the season 5 set of "The Shield." That one has great cover art but looks nothing like the first two seasons I have of that show.

I was hoping the final season set would have something in the way of NEW special features and interviews. But alas, crapped on again.

Yeah it's a shame Michael Mann didn't get involved in the release. Don Johnson and P.M.T. probably wanted too much money so Universal probably said fuck it.

My guess is that Universal had to pay quite a bit to keep all the original music, so any other expenses would not be incurred.

Just watched one I had never seen before or heard of where Tubbs goes undercover in a prison where the staff is shaking down drug dealers. Got a kick out of Laurence Fishburne as one of the crooked guards.

It looks like a decision was made in the 3rd season to let Olmos out from behind the desk and get him in on the action more.

Which episode has Sonny facing a bad guy holding a kid hostage....

Guy: Cop, if I so much as twitch, the kid's dead!

Sonny: Maybe you won't even twitch. (bang)

Now that was hardcore for a tv show back in the day....

A few quick Google searches shows that happened in the episode "Glades" from the first season. I think I just made myself a few minutes late for work to go watch that scene. It was worth it.

Now that "Sopranos" is done and "The Shield" is gone for a while I've got some time to catch up on old "Vice." Watched one tonight where Crockett falls for an emergency room doctor who is also a (gasp!) junkie. The odd part is that the doctor is played by Helena Bonham Carter who looks no older than 20 when this was shot. She makes Nicole Kidman as a doctor in DAYS OF THUNDER seem believable by contrast.

Oh well, Crockett shot a couple dudes and later kicked a wastebasket across a room when Castillo assigned him to desk duty so all in all I liked this one.

I havent picked up season 3 yet, as other releases have been higher priority, but hopefully soon the summer income will pick up soon. Speaking of the end of the Shield, I forgot escue Me started up.
