Tiger Woods - Amazing

I just can't get enough of this shot. I must've watched it 150 times since I saw it live.

It's a truly amazing shot with all the surrounding circumstances. The ball had to be hit with great accuracy due to the fact it lied flush against the intermediate rough. That made the shot difficult. Then it was hard enough to have it land perfectly to let gravity take over. Of course the lingering on the lip there added considerable amount of drama to the shot. He went on to win that Masters in a playoff against DiMarco.

No Tiger fans?

Sure he's an amazing golfer but Tiger is such a stiff. It's a dull game as it is so to have the best player seem dead from the neck-up doesn't help matters. He needs to be a little more animated. Remember Chi Chi Rodriguez? He used to do that little sword dance when he'd sink a putt. Now I honestly don't know how good a golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez was but because of the sword dance he'll always be in my head. Not so for Tiger.

What? Tiger does the underhand fist pump and big step when he sinks a big putt. It's no Shooter McGavin quick draw but it's at least as good as a sword dance.

None. The man can be appreciated on an intellectual level for his crazy skillz, but as a person he comes across as a black hole of charisma from which no spark of personality can escape.

But his fist pump is so robotic. He needs to use his name to his advantage and make a paw with his hand and go "Grrrrrrowl!"

Interest in watching most individual sports, especially those when you're just playing by yourself (golf, bowling), is something I can't understand. Can I appreciate how good he is at it? Sure, but I just don't care.

Thanks for this breaking news from April 2005 there womfalc. Do you have any other clips, maybe of Ben Hogan hitting a wedge shot from the 1952 US Open?

Excellent advice. The fact that his voice sounds like a combination of Steve Urkel and Popeye the sailor man doesn't really give him any points in the personality department either.

Tiger's Mom started this thread didnt she?

A mom would be the only person who would bring up a 2 year old shot.

LOL

Classics never die. I still watch plays/sporting occurrences that took place decades ago.
