I finally, FINALLY saw this on Turner Classic yesterday. What a magnificent film. Gary Cooper is one of my Golden Age blind spots, so I was floored by the quality of his comedic acting. Stanwyck, of course, is a delight.

There was one moment that seemed very Un-Wilderesque: When the group is sitting around the song dedicated to Professor Oddly's late wife. It seemed almost maudlin compared to Wilder's usual cynicism, but I thought it was movingly under-played by the cast.
