A Question of Race....

Went to go see "Primeval", and there has always been a reoccurring theme in all horror films....the death of the smart black man/woman. Are all horror writers racist or just so stupid that they think blacks wont notice they get killed in almost every horror film.

If I would direct a horror movie I would cast you as the next black red-shirt, too.

If said black person is Orlando Jones then your average person either won't give a shit, or they'll be there with bells on.

A smart casting director for a crappy horror film would put together a cast consisting of nothing but black actors and actresses, thus making it impossible to make survival predictions. Either that or have a black character angrily strike off on his own from the group, declaring he'll "get out all by himself, you'll see!" only to get lost, return to the original location, and find all the other characters have been killed.

I saw a movie recently (that was horrible and no, I won't name) that featured a black killer. The sort of unstoppable Jason killer. There was so much of a chance to explore racial tensions with it (the film was set in the south) but they did nothing. Very lame.... I'm waiting for a good movie to do that.

Write a horror version of the John Henry folktale, except that he's a resurrected slave viciously smashing white southern teens w/ his slegehammer "Betsy", you can call it "Blackhammer Deathgroove", and it will obliterate the box-office, this I promise you.

Don't ask me, man. I thought 'Brother always dies first' meant male sibling.

What about Kem Forhee from Dawn of the dead. LL Cool J in both Halloween H20 and Deep Blue Sea
post #10 of 21
Deep Blue Sea had a fat lady. They had no choice but to kill her as quickly as possible, before all others could even be considered for axing.

If you saw Dawn of the Dead, Ken Forhee was stuck in a tree with some zombie pregnant white girl how the fuck did he survive thats as for LL Cool J that one brother I would have gladly traded for Samuel L. to survive. LL Cool J and Will Smith are loved by white people. Fuck'em both.

Jan if you were anything involving me it would be my bitch for which I would gladly whipp your ass every day, now go sit in the corner with the rest of the tards and eat your graham cracker and shut the fuck up if you don't have anything of substance to add.

That's a good little bitch!

"Candyman" was a good film that made good use of racial tensions.

There's probably some interesting conversation regarding this topic, but "LordRhino" doesn't appear to be someone capable of participating in it.

Night of the Demons did this, only he was more scared than angry.

Why does this feel like a dangerous question?

I don't know, but I see dumb black men/women get killed in horror flicks as well the smart ones.

What about Busta Rhymes? Not only did he survive "Halloween: Resurrection", but he both roundhouse kicked Michael Myers and electrocuted him in the nuts. Where's your racism now, LordRhino?

Indeed, let us all join in a moment of silent appreciation of all the social progress ushered in by Halloween: Resurrection.

I saw that movie in a pretty ghetto theater, and have to say it was some of most fun I've had at the movies.

I would actually see this. I wouldn't call it 'Blackhammer Deathgroove,' but I'd see it.
