I'm sure you're getting as tired of these pieces as I am reporting about them, but figured this would be a good place to show the original (gah) some love. I always wanted to try some of Vincent's jerky.

Christ on a pony, enough with the Goddam remakes already! The original was cheesy as hell, and that was a good part of its charm. the remake promises to do nothing more than update the effects. The acting will surely be bad, but not cheesy enough to be fun, so what's the fucking point?

Not familiar with the original, but that's a nicely fucked up image.

What, Vincent's jerky or Christ on a pony?

White Snake sang it best...."Here we go again..."

Fuckers!

Love this movie.

The 'yard' where Vincent and his sister kept the victims always creeped me out. I could see some of these hillbillies around my area doing that.

Again, the point will be lost. Instead of being campy, creepy fun, it will be campy, mean and tiresome.

Ha. That ended up on a horror board and they thought it was real. AND loved it.

I can't find the original Variety story (I hate that site) but all it said was that MGM had it scheduled for release in December... nothing else. Quick blurb.

Maybe myers can design the poster though!

Don't they make horror films that aren't remakes anymore? It's starting to make me yearn for the days when all horror films were sequels. I'd rather sit through another Friday the 13th, than watch a badly done rehash of the Re-Animator starring Jon Heder as Herbert West. At this point anything remotely new to the horror genre would be a welcomed change.

Third Mother looks like a blast, thanks for the heads up. Here's hoping it's a return to form for Argento, because "Do You Like Hitchcock?", and "The Card Player" are pretty weak films.

FabFunk, here is a pretty good review of the original flick over at "BadMovies.Org". I don't know why they are remaking this, maybe they see are trying to delve into the archives of older lesser-known horror flicks and try releasing them on a unknowing mainstream audience...

Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hills Have Eyes, and others, this trend is about cashing in on titles you've all heard of, but not necessarily seen.

The fact Daria Nicoldi is on board gives me great hope.

The original is a nice slice of cheese, although I don't hold out much hope for this remake. If anything it may prompt a new dvd release of the original. I wonder which aging star they'll get to play Farmer Vincent?

The original knew it was grade B movie cheese and had fun with it. I fear the remake won't have any sense of humor and will incorpate too much of that ugly drop-frame editing bullshit, seen in TOOL videos, Chainsaw remake's trailer.

Why do all these remakes look the fucking same?

Fuck this right now.
