You should all feel thankful that Brian is writing for the site, cause if it weren't for him this movie wouldn't exactly get much coverage- you know my feelings on the remake.

But here's the thread for all upcoming Eyes-related discussions.

Hopefully we'll get to see Jeff Kober kick some mutant ass before his inevitable grisly demise.

I caught the remake on CineMax last week and I pretty much adored it. Two nights later, I watched it again. Although I seemed to miss the first 10 minutes, so I might try to rent it sometime.

As for the sequel, probably just as generic as other horror sequels go.

Has anyone seen the director Martin Weisz previous film? I hope this isn't another xerox sequel job.

The new trailer is so weak and I'm pretty sure this sequel will be awful.
I liked the teaser, but I agree this trailer is weak.
my headline was pretty weak. The Hills Have a Trailer? thats just sad. apologies all around.
Well, everything about The Hills Have Eyes 2 seems weak, so it's only approtiate.
The first one sucked so why is this a big surprise? The original is not that good, but it at least succeeded in establishing a creepy atmosphere and some nice baddies.

However, this part 2 will surely not be nearly as awful as the original part 2.

i dont know, part ii (1985) had that memorable dirt bike chase scene. wes craven has more crap movies than decent ones. does he just get a free pass because he made nightmare on elm street?

From the clips I saw of this at the NY Comic Con yesterday- you guys are gonna like it. It looks like more of the same.

Article recapping the day coming soon, but let's just say that there's one scene that just might top all of the sick stuff from the first film.

I read about the "birth" sequence. Holy mother of god, that's gonna be ugly.

We saw it right after breakfast too, which was fun.
i got a real "Aliens" vibe from it for some reason. And I hated have to watch Wes answer some of the dumbest qeustions i have ever heard.

"will there be a scream 4?"
and "Are horror movie too P.C." R-tarts
Lukas, I was the one who shared the story about how A Nightmare on Elm Street was the awakening of my sexual being to Mr. Craven. I'd like to think he got a kick out of it and it was a nice change of pace from the silly questions that were asked before me.
Well, that birth scene will probably test a few audiences.
Describe it in detail.
That scene is online at the Fox Atomic site, along with other ridiculously gory clips.
Holy mother of god. Why the hell did I watch that clip? That's some fucked up shit.
I think I have discovered I'm not a fan of horror... (oO)
You should not watch that with your lady if she doesn´t know what is in store for her. Opens quite an ugly can of worms...There goes my sunday sex.
On the other hand, there won´t be any kids talk soon!

I hope this film is good, but I don't know. I hope it goes more for suspense and genuine scares rather than just easy grossout gore. What do I know though.

Good luck on finding anything that is truly scary these days. About the closest I've come has been the DTV movie Dark Remains. There were some genuinely creepy moments in that one.

No critic screenings for this one.

I watched the "Birth" clip on Fox Atomic last night. It was so quick, I'm not sure but. . .does the mutant smack her in the head w/ what I THINK he smacked her in the head with? If so, this film's approval rating just rose a few points, because that's just fuckin' brutal, man. As was the "Help Me!" clip. Check that out too, if you haven't already; funny AND gory. I'll still wait for it to come on On Demand, but I won't skip it, like I otherwise may have.

The Korean horror film A Tale of Two Sisters has some genuinely scary moments, but most people haven't seen it... it's worth checking out though. The cinematography alone is gorgeous.

Yes, I am ashamed to say that after watching it I kept checking the end of my bed for a while.

I dont mind that kind of horror film, but this repugnant gore-fest we're disussing doesnt sit well with me at all, and so I think it is more deserving of the title 'horror' as that is what it inspires, wheres I guess tamer films should perhaps be pushed into a new genre called 'dread' or something.

He slapped his hand over his face. It made a nice loud "SMACK!"
did anybody even see this? guess not. iwas going to, until I took a u-turn into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which either doesnt say much for me, or says alot about how crappy hills 2 looks.

im too lazy to go back and look, what did you think it was?

if it is a femur, could you say he boned her? -sorry, had to
post #34 of 40
I guess he did bone her, at that. Actually, and PLEASE don't think I'm too fucked up for thinking this, but I thought he belted her w/ the kid.
Did anyone notice that the friendly mutant just disappears from the film? Was he supposed to have died in the blast, or was it bad editing?

And what the hell happened to the village from part one of the remake? That village was the climax in part one, and then it just goes away for part II? Dumb...
Unfortunately, I saw it. It wasn't the worst thing I've seen lately but it was at least in the top 5. Were we supposed to care about any of the characters or just sit and pull for the mutants to dispense with them in a very messy fashion?

About the village, there was a mention of the base being the size of Rhode Island so maybe this group of mutants were cousins of the ones in the original.

dude, that's not fucked up, cause as soon as i read it i was laughing for a good 5 minutes
post #38 of 40
i think it was clear for a few months now that this one was going to suck. im so glad it tanked in the box office. hopefully this is the end now.
I saw this Saturday. Suffice it to say, this piece of trash will actually make you more appreciative of Aja's remake, even if you absolutely hated it. THHE2 is awful, like TCM:TB awful. The only difference is, Hills 2 has The National Guard running around like total idiots, instead of teenagers running around like total idiots in TCM:TB.

Don't waste your time/$ with this junk.
Well, at least in that respect it lives up to the sequel to the original.
